Nissan Juke and Qashqai, while Nissans aren't always the best looking cars they are very good cars. I don't know about the new shape Honda Jazz, but the slightly older one has a high driving position and it is higher than the position in a Focus, I think they stopped making this model in 08 or 09, somewhere around then.

Ideally if you are comfortable it would be useful if we knew your budget, are you going to be adding, or just using the value of your focus to purchase a new car?

The Jazz is an interesting shout, my mrs has a 53 plate Jazz and it's massive inside. but for driving down country lanes, if OP drives like I do, the Jazz is ok, but nowhere as fun as my civic...

Are cars like the Rav4 or Honda CRV too big? What about the VW Touran? Honda FRV? Ford B-Max/C-Max? Peugeot 3008? trying to think of slightly higher cars that arent gonna cause you discomfort getting in and out, like i imagine a low hatch, like your focus does...

Hate to say it but you get a lot of car for your money with the likes of Ford, Vauxhall. Also with some of the deals at the moment you can get Zafria for almost buttons.

Try the Ford b max, c max or s max or slightly older 2009 I think was last one, the fusion. Certainly the Fusion is effectively a fiesta estate, plenty of room, high up driving position, decent space for luggage etc. Additionally the front passenger d maybe seat folds flat into a table but allows for long items like curtain poles to be laid straight through car.

I would definitely err towards Ford/Vauxhall and avoid Nissan, Toyota and Renault. Renault especially will set you back an arm and leg for parts.

Yeah, you should definitely avoid 2 of the consistently highest ranked marques when it comes to reliability and customer satisfaction.

Regarding Vauxhalls, there is a new shape Zafira coming out soon, which means they are flogging off the current model for peanuts.
