Best Tablet
What is the best tablet under £300 and will be fine watching football tv streams like BT sport ?
I have been getting mixed reviews like non responsive tablet when trying to flick through websites, the tablets simply crash a lot or a lot of memory is needed.

Ipad without hesitation but you may need to pay just over £3000

7" or 10"?0

For the price of an iPad Mini you could actually buy 2.5 of these. EASILY the best bargain tablet at the moment. The 8.9" (full HD!) screen is a great compromise between the imo too small 7" and too big 10" as well.

There is no best tablet for everyone.
As RWalton saids if you want responsive and slick you are really looking at an Ipad, however there are very good android tablets.
Your best bet is to go into a branch of PC world and play with them, and see what your opinion is. You may find there a lavel of lag or slowness you'll tolerate if the next tablet up is twice the price. The nook HD is nice, but not as polished as the iPad, however the iPad is a lot more cash.
The Nook HD's are very nice, but by all account Barnes and Noble are clearing them out as the nook brand isn't doing well, thats not to say don't buy one, just there may be more discounting of them coming soon, and while the operating system is a customised Android version, there may be little future support, unless you root the tablet and put another version of the OS on it.
Thats always the case in the IT retail space.0 -
I've no idea how BT Sport streams work, but if they're on Adobe Flash, a Windows tablet is the only (official) way to go because Flash was never on iOS, and is no longer supported on Android (but can still be shoved on with varying results). Lots of streaming websites will use flash.0

BT have spent a lot of money on sport rights, they don't want to exclude anyone so you can understand they made sure it would work and built their own iDevice app.
Building for a windows tablet would not be the best way to get to the mass market

Nah, just looking at this page, the Android App should work on any Android tablet

OP, I know some folk will scoff at this, but I bought one of these Acer Iconia A210 last year, and for the price I have been Hugely Impressed.
I swapped an original iPad for this, and I haven't had any disappointments with it AT ALL.
There is now an A3 tablet available from Acer. I don't how it differs from the A210, but I would recommend the A210 to anyone.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.

I don't regret buying my iPad retina (not mini) one bit. It's very easy to use if you're not tech savvy - there is very little settings to mess around with, and the AppStore is vetted by apple so you are unlikely to have poor quality apps. Also I find that there is always an iOS app made alongside an android app - I've checked, there is a bt sports app and sky go. When I had an android phone I found that sometimes a company will release an app only on AppStore and not on android for a while, if that bothers you. I think with the iPad you do get what you pay for, but not necessarily the same with the iPhone.
My partner has a kindle fire hd, and now only uses it for reading and will prefer to borrow my iPad or use his phone. Compared to the iPad, the kindle is clunky and cluttered.0 -
My 74yr old mum, who has bad vision problems, bought an Ipad retina before christmas via Tesco who were offering a £30 discount.
The Ipad has been a god send in that she now emails, surfs the net, plays games and uses Facebook.
I'd never used an Ipad before setting my mum's up and its truly superb. It never crashes or hangs. Much better than any Android tablet I have used.
After my mum bought an Ipad my brother and sister bought one as they were so so impressed.
She has an app for BTSport on her Ipad which works spot on.0 -
Just as an addendum to my earlier recommendation for the Nook HD+ CEX are selling them (A Grade, 12 months warranty) for £85! I bit the bullet and ordered one the other day, turned up the next day and it is in mint/new condition. Plus as an added bonus it turns out it is the 32GB version! Amazing tablet for the money, as long as you have no use of a camera or GPS.0
