Thanks for the warning Sabbathdei, but I think I'll be ok because the subscription I have comes free with one of my credit cards (dormant as it turns out!) and I am pretty sure there was no CPA or DD nonsense when I signed up.

If my next credit card statement shows they took money* then heads will roll. Meantime, I'll check with the one who is supposed to be calling me back inside 24 hours!

Did anyone notice how long the last two posts were ?

Of the order of 35,000 characters. That's what MSE's software told me when I tried to post it as one post, anyway.

And what was it I posted?

Well it is just the last 3 months worth (only) of search entries / alerts on my Equifax file starting about the time that Barclaycard and partners Experian managed to approve a new credit card in my name to a fraudster applying online with no correct data other than my first name (no middle name), surname and address. All other data was incorrect.

It turns out that Equifax and CallCredit were searched at the same time but Equifax in particular did not alert me under their alert service of which I have been a subscriber for 4 years. They have however alerted me about all the other cr¤p they put on the file and delete from the file and put on the file and delete from the file and put on the file and delete from the file and put on the file and delete from the file etc. ...

PS I have no business with any of the insurance companies who searched, and no business with VIRGIN MEDIA or CAPITA EMPLOYEE BENEFITS LIMITED but hey, they may as well join the party, eh? Also I have not opened any new account with Metrobank for nearly 2 years.

Have you anything useful to add in the interest of the general public on this consumer interests forum ? If not, you might well consider that adding nothing is the most useful course. You represent no-one. I represent many tens of thousands whose credit files are disgracefully managed daily.
