    Lest we forget, MEW = 6% of disposable income right now. MEW is harder or impossible if HPI is negative. If the voters lose 6% of disposable income they'll feel a lot poorer and so a lot less likely to vote for the incumbents.

    hmmmm... perhaps he should just get the money printing presses working a bit harder...
