  • Good morning everyone - I used to post donkeys ago, but fell off the OS wagon!!

New Year - New Me (hopefully!) I need to get some order both financially, and in my home.

So, today I have put a load of washing on before coming to work - popped to Sainsburys to get some milk, yoghurt and coriander for tonights dinner.

Lunch is soup and a roll (shop bought :o)

Dinner tonight is chilli meatballs and cous cous.

DD has hockey training tonight, so I will hopefully use that time to catch up on the ironing ;)

Have a great day everyone :)
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Morning :)

Lovely sunshine today, cool wind. Rained heavy overnight again though :(
Luna has been walked, popping into town for a few errands and then back to housework.

Tea tonight will be chicken casserole.

Hugs and spoons all round xx

Julie fingers crossed you make it home today xx

Think the sandman needs to sprinkle a bit of sleeping dust over a lot of you, hugs, matchsticks (to prop open those eyes) and lots of coffee to those that need them xx

    Hi all.
My Dad took youngest to school for me today, bless him, but I've been really slow to get going this morning - feeling very demotivated.
About to load up wm and dw, then kick myself up the backside to get some housework done!
Could do with popping to shops for a couple of bits at some point - bit of fresh veg and yet more bread - really must start making my own!
Oh well - best get going.
Have a good day, everyone xx

    Hi everyone,

Yvieblue, I'm finding it hard to get going as well - I'm not finding it hard to go to sleep, which is usually a big problem for me, but I'm having very unsettling dreams so I'm waking up feeling jaded.

Luxor, great news, what a relief for you.

Tenyearstogo, when I took my dd to the dr at 5 years old saying I thought she had shingles two drs poopooed me saying she was far too young, until they looked at the rash and decided that it might be shingles after all. She'd also had chicken pox twice!

Said DD (now 30) has just been on the phone telling me that she is going on a trip to Mexico (expenses paid) to look at Tequila and Mezcal brands and before that she has to do a story on a posh champagne dinner, some people have a hard life, lol.

I am really not in the mood to do anything today, I'll eport back if I get my mojo back.

*hugs* Snoozer - hope we both get our mojo back soon.

You know what, though? I've got the essentials almost done today - washing and dishes on, dog about to get his outing - but then I'm giving myself permission to "wallow" for a few hours!
Family will still have clean, ironed clothes tomorrow - as always.
They'll still have a home-cooked, hot meal tonight - as always.
But just for this afternoon, I'm taking a couple of hours off from swimming against the tide; I'm going to curl up on the sofa and be nice to myself as I would be to anyone else who was feeling below par - and then tomorrow I'll give myself that kick up the behind and get on with it!!
  • Shopping today and we have just got back.
I felt really ill this morning so I did my BG before breakfast and I have had a huge spike and I have been really good and not touched any sweeties over Christmas :( so I will keep an eye on my readings today and if it is still high tomorrow I will phone the GP.

Julie glad to hear that you may be home today, I have been told that I will be kept in for 10 - 14 days maybe that is just hospital protocol in London.

tenyearstogo I hope that your son gets better quickly.

Right off to do another reading before lunch and then grab something to eat

    Morning all,

I'm another one not sleeping well,my leg aches terribly. Never mind I'm hoping to be home today. My obs were good this morning no temperature and my blood pressure is behaving. I've just got to do the stairs and they said I can leave after lunch. I'm managing ok on the crutches. I really didn't know how painful this was going to be. Just glad it's done. My right leg has been fine, the cartlidge is fixed and my consultant said it was nowhere near as bad as the left one, so really hoping it doesn't need replacing for a very long time.
I can't wait to get outside. And some fresh air, the atmosphere is very stuffy here.
Dh is coming for me later. He's been a trooper and I know he's hated every minute of me being away, we hate being apart, he says the house feels strange without me:D
Hopefully everything is reasonably tidy and even if it's not I can't do much about it lol. Have a good day x
Going-home vibes for you; I don't need to tell you to take it easy, and if there's dust, either ignore it, or smile sweetly at a passing family member and press a duster into their hand.;)

    Morning all,

Yesterday was a very strange day: DH came home from his procedure early as they could not find anything bad enough to need fixing.
The tablets etc are doing their job.
He is no more at risk of a heart attack than anybody else with a similar health profile (my words btw).
He does have an irregular heart beat, but after a double bypass that is not unusual.
    :j:j:j
BUT ... it's going to take a while to sort out the feelings about the last few months. It's almost a year since he got the all clear from cancer and we've been unable to move on. Things can be different now :):D:p.
