Mobile Phone Contract with Three
In September I got the Galaxy Note 2 from Three on a 24 month contract. About a month ago my phone updated but now I've had problems with it. especially with the app S-Note which I use to take notes with at lectures.
I brought it to Three who told me to take it to samsung which I did. They restarted the phone which took them 2 days and the phone was ok afterwards. Recently though the phone updated itself again and now the same things are happening but worse. It's not only S-Note that isn't working but also a lot of the other apps are being stupid too. I now really just want a different phone.
My question is could I bring it to Three and ask them to switch it for a totally different phone? I always pay my bill on time and in full and apart from the phone I have had good service from them. Or would I need to pay off my contract first before they'd even give me a new phone?

You can, but they will refuse and they have no obligations to replace it. Even if it's a hardware fault (unlikely) they will suggest repair again. However, if you don't want to waste time on dealing with Samsung, it's '3' duty to do everything themselves. My question is could I bring it to Three and ask them to switch it for a totally different phone?
They never 'give' you a phone. They give you a 'loan' for buying it from them. Buying a new sim-free phone will be much cheaper than paying off the existing 'loan' and taking a new one.Or would I need to pay off my contract first before they'd even give me a new phone?0 -
As above. You would never get offered a 'new' phone, They can repair or replace at their discretion, but if they did replace it then you would get a refurb of the same model or equivalent spec.
Assuming that this ia just a software issue, what would be the point of replacing the hardware?
Have you tried to do a back up and factory restore? No free lunch, and no free laptop

seems common with Samsung phones, last time I had one the text messages kept losing connection to address book - so all messages shows as +447(rest of numbers)... was a pain to check who was texting..
tracking where responsible in the loop of Samsung \ Android version \ Specific Networks customised firmware was a nightmare.. fortunately this was apparent in first couple of days so managed to return it..
Sounds like the problems are of your own doing in that you did the software update... changing it from the 'stock version' that you were supplied...0
