What are PC World like for faulty returns after xmas?

Bought a tablet, now faulty (hardware) but intermittent. I really like it and would like to swap for another. Pc world are out of stock in 20 closest stores. Will they refund or will they (unacceptably) have to send it off for testing? Need it for my job, plus being only used since Xmas a repair doesn't seem right. I'm spoilt as I usually order from john Lewis or amazon but pc world only place that had stock at time, and never usually buy anything from there due to goons behind the counter.

Their terms mention unopened goods refunded until 14th jan

What's the likeliest outcome here?

Thats a Christmas offer for unused goods not faulty goods .
Likely outcome depending upon date of purchase and actual problem is that its sent for repair .

Oh well, thats what I was hoping wouldn't happen. Might try my luck and see if they'll let me exchange for something else.

If the surface pro 2 are the ones with the new processors released on Monday I might ask for one of them.

Edit - Decided to ring and they said they'd need to send it off!

    Hello

It depends when you bought it. Quite a few stores will still replace/refund/exchange if its under a few months ago.

I had a TV go faulty that I bought from Agros. As it was 7 months old they sent it back but they did state if it would have been 1 month newer then they would of been able to deal with it in house and offer a swap.

Go into the shop and ask to speak with the manager. If you ask nicely instead of moaning you might be lucky.

    Hope this helps

That does seem to be the route to go softly softly .

They can repair, refund or replace at their discretion.

That depends on when the OP bought it.

Think it was either sun dec 22 or mon 23rd, haven't got the receipt to hand anyway and unless I can find it, I won't get very far anyway.

Have you got a print out of your account statement showing the payment? That is proof of transaction.

If they'll take an online printout as proof that will be good, I'm 'paperless' with statements.
