No worries on your thoughts. A little back ground.

My wife comes from a very small family, her twin sister, parents, 2 nieces and her son. Her mother is very controlling and if anybody disagrees with her she'll shun them. We had 6 years of total bliss from 2004 to 2010 when my wife didn't speak to her parents. Before we met, my wife was married to a very successful buildings designer and her mother was happy with this as she's very money orientated. I'm a normal worker and grafter to which she dissapproved highly!! (she refused to come to our wedding, in fact it was over a year until I met her parents!)
Since she got back to talking to her parents, I was 'tollerated' although they never gave my wife a moments peace about us, picking up on anything that was wrong like lack of money, not doing a car boot, just about anything she could think of just to have a go.
I'm not alone in this. Her sisters husband has had the same treatment and it was he who finally snapped 3 months ago and walked out after 15 yrs of marriage. My wife and her sister have been 'controlled' all their lives so it was just a matter of time.
I know she still loves me as I do her, but events have taken their toll. She's been told what and when to do it, so I feel no malice towards her, just pity.
I know she'll regret that things have happened this way, but I know that with the support I have on here and with friends, I'll be OK, I just hope she will!!

Sorry if this has turned into a 'war and peace' epic, and I know I didn't have to divulge this information. But it's good to get it out.

    Long live the Elite. XXX

P.S. I have never had an affair in my life. :)

I totally understand this. We have family who try and control and manipulate. Luckily we are strong enough to realise that keeping our distance is best, but there have been times of extreme pressure.

I hope it all works out for you. I'm sure it helps you to know that she is "under the influence" rather than willingly be malicious.

PS ever tempted to sign her family up to dodgy magazines:D

SFSB you and your DW's reasoning is not necessarily true.

When I split with my ex I probably had every reason under the sun to do what Scamp's wife has done to him.

Let's just say I am lucky to still be here to tell the tale and I don't tell it often. :(

But as Patty said I too would be ashamed of being a woman if I did those things. 2 wrongs don't make a right. Once I had the courage to leave, I did everything by the book, even freezing the joint bank account with my not long paid in wages. (my ex was paid cash so I never saw a penny of that.)

I was quite young when it all happened but I can hold my head high and not be ashamed of/regret anything I did. I don't think in a few years time Scamp's wife will be able to.
