Recommend a Greek Island Resort for Family

We went to Rethymnon , Crete and Evia last November and can seriously recommend both for different reasons,

Rethymnon has a fantastic beach and all the facilities you could need, plus, seeing as it's half way between Chania and Heraklion, you can mix and match your flights to get the lowest fare possible.

Evia is totally different. Accessible by road from Athens airport, and is the island Athenians go to for weekend breaks. To me, this island feels fat less commercial and more a taste of the old Greece. The sunsets over to the mainland are spectacular, and a hire car is a must as the island is huge!

Places that I have been to that were good for families:

Alykes/Alykanas in Zakynthos. Quiet resorts with gently shelving, clear sea.

Places that I haven't been to but visited that seemed good for families:

Pefkhori in Halkidiki.
Pefkos and Kolymbia in Rhodes.

All of the above are great resorts for couples after a quiet holiday or families with young kids.

Id second Pefkos, we stayed at Summer Memories really nice clean apartments run by a lovely family. Good position near plenty of restaurants and not far from Lindos if you want to do some sightseeing.
