Had a bit of a think & going to give it a go on my own (but fully intend to keep hovering in the back ground) The support on here is fantastic but I always remember a comment made the end of January along the lines of If things are so much better without alcohol why would you want to drink? Well I really don't want one & Im finding that the only time Im thinking about it is to remind myself to post on here.
Wishing you all well on your AF targets for April lets see if I can do it without the smileys lol
Thank you.
I only started cutting down drinking because I wanted to save money. However, I came to realise it was beginning to get somewhat out of control. These past couple of months have been better for me not turning to the bottle at every one of life's little difficulties.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
Well, I didnt make target. 14/20 but neither have I gone OTT on alcohol either and it would have been more apart from that dreaded lurgy as well (excuses excuses). I'd like to go for 15 in April which I will probably up if I meet it. I have a weekend away and a couple of nights out, but these can be alcohol free and another fitness course where its going to be impossible to drink and get it finished properly, some very early starts so no booze.0

So, I got nowhere near my target for March, as far too many celebratory / goodbye drinks, as well as too many s*d it evenings.
Me and DH have just come back from a very successful trip "up North" where we found an apartment to rent for 6 months so we're no longer homeless during the gap between selling our house here in the South and the apartment we're buying being available and doing the necessary refurbishments. It's a penthouse place overlooking Southport's seafront and just an 8 minute coastal drive from the place we're buying.
Along with a lovely mother's day lunch with 5 generations from 1 to 84 years young at my mum's house, it was a very successful weekend.

I lost count a little in the middle of the month but I think I finished March on 16/15 which isn't bad as I had two long weekends away.
For April I think I will go for 18 AF days0 -
Morning all, and hello Maman! Good to "see" you
Pinch punch, first day of the month and all that malarkey. Hope everyone is feeling positive about their targets for April?
Feeling very positive here - I am very much a homebird and am concentrating on the improvements to family life that my being in control of my drinking will bring.
Have a good day all
Miss P

Hi Miss P!!! You forgot and no returns so pinch punch right back at ya! No need to answer on here but what benefits do you think this will bring.
Good luck with going it alone a fool with money, I hope you don't miss us and please let us know how you are doing from time to time.
Well done loads of people - it's been an impressive month for so many on here.
Shaggy as ever thank you and also well done.
I drank a bottle of wine last night to close off the month and then the alarm went off to go running this morning. I have to say I really didn't want to go but was feeling pleased as I did it anyway. I think I need to give up all this healthful lifestyle as it interferes with my getting !!!!ed up the night before with mates in a pub!:rotfl:0 -
Durr have just realised that yesterday was still March. Therefore another afd to report so 10/10 pour moi. Yay!:jTotal weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0

Managed last night on nothing stronger than soda water, which wouldnt have happened a year ago. I know I dont post often on here, but I was going to not update at all this month. I currently have someone trolling me around the boards and its been going on in one form or another since around Christmas and there's currently some debate going on in another section of this site as to whether by sharing stuff about my life I actually deserved, if thats the right word to be trolled like this.
Ive spoken to few people offline about any struggles I had re alcohol and Im aware that someone only needs to look at my posting history to add this to the list of other insults that are currently doing the rounds, Im over 40, single, I have pets and I used to suffer from work related stress.
Anyhow, I figure that it's just words on a screen and it won't stop me posting. Very likely to be a long term user in another guise, Im certainly not the first person to be picked off and Im sure I wont be the last.
Just that sometimes, it takes a lot for people to go on any thread and say, Im struggling with this. You dont reckon that there's someone out there who wants to call you names over it.
Not the way Id behave on a forum even if I didnt care for someone. Anyway, its a new month, good luck everyone, hope you all meet your targets.0
