Well done on the brandy front Smiley!

Welcome Newstart! Good luck with the cutting back on spending and the 5 AF days a week.

I don't know that I was ever that interested in what people had in their glasses, so I don't think I bullied people per se in my drinking days. I'm absolutely certain that I encouraged people to have another one towards the end of the evening when perhaps they might have been wiser not to, and I definitely encouraged OH to drink with me, which he did, a lot, and often. :o Fortunately for me he's been 100% supportive since I stopped, but I think that's mainly due to the fact that I was absolutely vile to him on a pretty regular basis when I'd had waaaaaay too much to drink. :o:o Neither of us wants to go back to that. There's no doubt that if you're in the mood to drink more, doing so with other people feels like more fun than doing it on your own, and I think that's where my problem probably got out of control and a lot of the badgering comes from.

Miraculously OH's 20 year sleep problems cleared up about three months after I stopped drinking and he cut right down, so he doesn't want to go back to sloshing it back every night either. But it was a long time before he connected and accepted the relationship with drinking a few glasses of wine with his disrupted sleep. Denial, I suppose. Anyway, both of us feel very comfortable with where we are now, which is fantastically helpful and keeps us on the straight and narrow.

    12/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

    Please can I sneak in?

I've noticed my alcohol (mostly wine) consumption is creeping up, with me having a couple of glasses most evenings. Since I'm trying to become more disciplined with my spending, it seems like a good time to be more disciplined with my drinking too. I'm going to aim for 5 AF days per week, I was AF yesterday and plan to again tonight - so will have completed 2 / 16 AF days left for July.

    Welcome and Good Luck!
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
