May I ask how many on here are totally alcohol free ?
    And for how long ?

I rarely manage more than a few days AF and was last alcohol free for a year in the nineties when I went from New year to New Year and realised I had last had alcohol a year before and not thought about it in between. Then I moved to London and stopped driving all the time.

Loveasale I think we all know those feelings. Big hugs over the interwebs from me.

Shaggy, another one to report tonight so 6/14 please. I just got back from a lovely but boozy holiday and need a complete run to Feb now to make my target.

Thank you for your replies on who doesn't at all,,
I'm feeling very low and hate myself for my binge drinking on sat and Sunday ,, I'm sure a feeling a lot of you will be familiar with :((

Totally agree with all who say be kind to yourself. I'd be more concerned about your ability to cut down if you weren't bothered about having too much at the weekend.:)

Sadly, most of us find that Stop button elusive. I find it easier to look for it mid evening if I switch to a soft drink or a coffee for a while; enables me to at least find the pause button.:)

Blimey what a revolting person....I don't think she can use the drink as an excuse for this sort of behaviour...you have to be not very nice underneath to do that sort of thing...

    imho

    Well said.

You know they say alcohol is a depressant - the feeling you experienced when you posted that is the feeling they're talking about. It used to hit me about 4.00pm the first day without booze after a hefty session. That's 100% the booze. No booze, no horrible feeling, no hating yourself. I was very familiar with it and I've never had it since I stopped drinking. (That's not to say I don't sometimes get upset because I've done something I shouldn't, but it's never been exactly that horrible feeling again and I remember exactly how low I felt.)

    Woo hoo!!!

    24/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.
  • Up to 23/30 for tonight please Shaggy. Dry Jan is definitely getting easier as the month progresses. Fridays are the night I find it difficult.
What goes around comes around.....I hope!
