    13/20 AFDs today
  • Morning all.
    Its proper brrrr! Here today!
Anway I survived another af Friday night although it is still tough and I have to battle with myself. I did however stuff my face instead. Which is not helping my battle with the bulge but it is helping my head, when the next day it doesn't feel like its been kicked in!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
    17/30please Shaggy.

Well I have had a drink Thursday Friday and Saturday (slightly too much last night as we had friends in for a meal) so a little fragile today. I think I will therefore declare early today. I'm away again all week and I do find this more difficult than being at home sitting in a restaurant thinking oh I will just have a glass of .... Also I used to sometimes take wine with me to have a glass in my room before / after a meal. I'm away until Friday so could have 5 AFDs during that time. I'm also struggling with my weight, the not drinking has meant more eating and this treat yourself mentality I seem to have means if the reward is not alcohol then it should be chocolate or cake! Struggling a bit with my OH too as I think he is a bit depressed but he is so grumpy and unhelpful at the moment which doesn't help.

Apologies for the moaning. Must get on lots to do case to pack etc so please put me down for 10/14 Shaggy. Thank you

Am having the same problem with being away all week. Am away this week coming too. How do you manage to stay AF during this time?

Am still on a very very poor 3/14 AF days thanks Shaggy.

(((Hugs))) for you MaggieM. I hope you and GreenKaren find a way that works for you really quickly. I think it's tricky trying to cut down on booze and lose weight at exactly the same time. Research shows that we're more likely to succeed if we focus on one thing at a time. Six months after I stopped drinking I found losing a bit of weight much simpler and I'm not at all sure I'd have been able to do both at the same time.

    20/30 please, Shaggy.

This resonates with me, something I used to always do when staying in hotels. I've found that as I've got into the habit of AF days I generally drink less on the days I am drinking so taking bottles with me has stopped. I might still drink but I can wait until dinner or meeting people in the bar.

I agree with HB that it's best to work on one thing at a time. I came on here and cut back on my drinking first so that when I joined Slimming World my alcohol fitted into the amount of treats allowed in the plan. I suppose you could use the plan to give you guidelines to cut back but that's a lot to tackle if you need to change how you eat as well.

I did manage my AF Friday:). Thanks all for the support. I missed it more in anticipation as I generally look forward to 'weekend starts here' from wine o'clock on Fridays. Once I'd got into the evening it was just like any other AF day. I may try it again.
