Feels like an age since I've had anything to post. I've had a few drinks since last week but been quite moderate. I find that if I get to a point where I feel I've had enough I have a hot drink instead. Even if I have a piece of chocolate (2 squares of 70%) with it the calories are far lower than the wine!:D

:T on your weightloss HB. While I know the theory of calories in and out I think it's diet that makes the biggest difference. Probably because you need so much exercise to work off a relatively small number of calories.

    2 AFDs please Shaggy.

    Declaring early for tonight 7\30.

Really please with that, have been tempted but at the moment I am determined to not drink in November and to lose 7lbs in weight before Christmas. Didn't have a headache last week either but bought some AF wine from Sainsburys to have with Sunday lunch and Sunday evening had a bad head, was wondering if there is something in the AF that is the same as 'normal' wine, which would account for my headaches?!

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

I like the new signature and good luck with the weigh-in. I thought giving up the three handmade chocolates after dinner would be the toughtest (typing error, but rather appropriate so I'm leaving it there) thing, but apparently not and more to the point for me, if I could do without them, I could do without all the other sugary stuff like puddings etc.

Quite apart from the marvellous scoring you do which is what makes the thread so effective, I will be eternally grateful to you for the Low GI thing. It has completely transformed my life. Thank you thank you thank you.

    5/30 please.

Thank you so much HB. I get a lot out of this wonderful thread too. Well I have put on a pound - which isn't much I know - but I want to lose a bit of weight before Xmas. So - I have set up a spread sheet on my lappy for CFDs (chocolate free days) which I hope together with AFDs will help lose a few pounds so I can look lovely in my Xmas jumper! Less than 7 weeks to go!:snow_laug:santa2:

I was also interested in your comments about suddenly being able to give up a habit. I can't explain why Tuesday I chose not to have a drink whereas for the last 18 months I have tried to cut down thinking most mornings I won't drink tonight then by 6.30 not able to resist. I did manage dry January but felt I almost drank more in February.

Me three. I went for weeks saying to myself I probably need to drink a bit less for the good of my health....nothing happened. Then I set a target for saving for my retirement - bingo - I can't be bothered drinking.

1.4 kgs down in seven days, purely by cutting out everything with added sugar in it

Brilliant weight loss! Don't know if you are a fan of Heinz beans - but they have 50% less sugar ones that taste great. On offer in Tesco's 4 for £2.
