What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Congrats HB for your sugar free efforts that is amazing!. Well done you.

Thank you! I find it interesting that we can go for years and years knowing we have to tackle a bad habit and find ourselves completely unable to change our behaviour and then suddenly *wham* for no discernable or apparent reason - it's completely do-able. I gave up smoking that way, the booze and now apparently, sugar. I was debating with myself yesterday as to whether I could allow myself a hot cross bun (freezer clearance, needed the space) with jam, but I managed to enjoy a toasted brioche bun (more freezer clearance) with peanut butter instead. It's definitely true that the more sugar we eat, the more we want. Both the hot cross buns and brioche buns were BOGOFs so lesson learned there.

I like the new signature and good luck with the weigh-in. I thought giving up the three handmade chocolates after dinner would be the toughtest (typing error, but rather appropriate so I'm leaving it there) thing, but apparently not and more to the point for me, if I could do without them, I could do without all the other sugary stuff like puddings etc.

Quite apart from the marvellous scoring you do which is what makes the thread so effective, I will be eternally grateful to you for the Low GI thing. It has completely transformed my life. Thank you thank you thank you.

    5/30 please.
    Better is good enough.
  • Well I made it through Friday night without booze. I agree with what previous posters have said about feeling like you have earned a drink, especially on Friday, just for getting through the week! That is what I have been telling myself. Need to get out of that mindset.
Did have icecream though so not all virtuous on the diet front. I am calling it in early so I can't change my mind!
    5/30 Please Shaggy!
Do I really need it? Probably not.:A
