18 carat yellow gold, same as the engagement ring. (We didn't realise you might want the same carat - but the engagement ring was The Ring & we were utter babes in the wood!)
When I had to take my wedding ring off (midwife's instructions), I *missed* it (hormones ahoy!) & my husband bought me a 9 carat gold "copy" just in a larger size. When I could fit back into my wedding ring, we engraved our baby son's initials & date of birth inside the 9 ct ring (my "maternity" ring!).
Then did the same again with sons 2 & 3...
Should they ever bring back Ms.Right, we can sort them *wedding* rings at once!0 -
OH made my ring (well designed it ha ha ha, not actually made it in the shed...) and it's from platinum from Canada.
The wedding ring had to be in platinum too.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
My engagement ring is a peach sapphire princess cut diamond ring in rose gold and my wedding ring is a platinum diamond band.
I got these because I didn't want to have to get them replated every few years and also I just love the constrasting band coloursMarried 30/08/14 :heartpuls0 -
Palladium. If it's good enough to be in Iron Man's chest, it's good enough for my finger
Seriously, I held it up against a platinum one and could see no difference, apart from costing 30% as much...so it seemed like a no-brainer.
Wifey, on the other hand, has platinum both for engagement and wedding rings. Her wedding ring was *much* smaller than mine, so it still cost about the same.0 -
I'd be happy with silver. I love silver

This is pretty much my reasoning for wanting palladium rings... LOL. That being said I might get a silver one, I currently wear three pieces of jewellery (crucifix, collar & engagement ring) two of which are white gold (crucifix and engagement ring) and one of which is silver (collar is beaten silver). The Boss kind of likes the idea of me getting my wedding ring to match the collar, so either beaten silver, or beaten palladium (Because Iron Man). Oh, my watch is also silver... I guess that counts as jewellery.
I figure as the metals in my permanent jewellery are already really mismatched then getting something different to the engagement ring won't help.
On another note, this may be just me, but I'm a little bit sad/nostalgic about buying my wedding ring, as it's the last piece of jewellery I will buy. I can't wear bracelets, and I don't have my ears pierced, so with already wearing two things around my neck, my watch, and my wedding/engagement rings then that is me done for jewellery... there's no space left on me! :-(Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0 -

You just need to be careful with your choice of wedding and engagement rings...certain combinations can cause the rings to wear on each other - it's for that reason most people have the same metal for both.
And you never know, you might get an eternity ring one day.0 -

I shall do some research into that...
Although an eternity ring? I think my fingers should fall off LOL... they're too full!Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0 -
Get your ears pierced? Why can't you wear bracelets? I'm not a fan of chain bracelets but I love bangles and wristbands
Have you checked Etsy for handmade beaten metal rings? I love Etsy

I'm probably going to get the ring from etsy... there's some wonderful ones on there.
Ears are staying unpeirced, it's kind of cool not to have them done, because everyone else does. Also I have TINY hands, hence the no bracelets... the only bracelet that will stay on is my christening one, which is made for toddlers... :-( I'm always envious of people with loads of bangles, they look so good!Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A0
