In my city we only have the choice of one provider or FiWi which will also be cheaper but cant really find any reviews online.

FiWi is not something that is available in the UK (AFAIK), but the term may be one the OP has picked up for something else.

Would need to know what the OP means (no jargon please), what city they are in, who the providers are, etc.

FiWi is Fibre Wireless. Not that that helps much.

I should explain, my understanding of FiWi is basically to do the same to broadband as has happened to phones.
Instead of having a cable going to your house with a router/bridge/modem connected to the end of it, you have a FiWi mast (like a mobile phone mast) which will be used for wireless broadband. You pay your provider and they give you access to use their masts. The masts are then connected by ultra high speed fibre so they can cope with the volumes of data.

BT-FON is a step in that direction, but the wireless signals are too localised.
