euro car parks fine

Hello everyone,
So today I parked in a euro car parks and displayed my disabled badge, and returned to find a ticket for not displaying a valid parking ticket.
I thought it would be free however it did say no concessions for disabled badge holders.
What should I do? I have read a lot about ignoring them, writing a letter and so on and am not sure what the most up to date advice is. Please help!
I really don't want to fork out £40 for the sake of 10 minutes.
Regards
Angrykid
edit- I have read the stickies but am still unsure, please advise? And apologies for posting on other threads! !

hello, welcome to the forum
now then , lets start with some basics shall we ?
1) it is NOT a FINE , its a parking charge invoice or ticket
only the court or a judge can fine you, so definitely NOT a fine !!
2) the BB is not valid on private land , the EQUALITY ACT 2010 applies but not the BB , read your BB booklet if you dont believe me
so , lets get down to the nitty gritty
you were parked on private land for 10 minutes and then departed
well if that is true you are allowed about 10 minutes grace to either comply with the signage or depart, so you departed
you say its £40 , or it could be up to £100 for the sake of argument
this is NOT a "genuine pre-estimate of loss" , the OFT ruled that a gpeol would be say £12 at most
as you were considered to be trespassing, only the landowner or his legal agent could take you to court and would have to prove a "loss" occurred as well, seeking damages
so you appeal to the PPC, then to popla (if they are in the BPA)
with a properly worded appeal you win at popla, case closed , no cost , nada
so read the NEWBIES - READ THIS FORST sticky thread about 4 down from the top of this forum (as you were asked to in those other threads) , formulate your plan of attack and draft soft-appeal, then post back for checking
this may help you understand what happened here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4835943
PS:- DO NOT IGNORE THEM if you are in england or wales, that would be stupid (being blunt here)0 -
If you thought the Newbies thread was a bit complicated in one go, why not read the 'walk through' by Umkomaas which is one of the clear first links I give newbies in that same sticky? Then you can revisit the 'Newbies' thread with the 'walk through' step by step guide fresh in your mind (or even open on another tab to help the advice make more sense).
Ignoring is not current advice. Complaining to the retailer/landowner is though, as well as sending an appeal, worded as from the registered keeper (not driver).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
