VLC and MOBIOUS car cam

I recently bought this MOBIUS, ( after reading TECHMOAN’s advice plus reviews), car camera but am having trouble playing videos via VLC Media Player.
I can play the videos through Quick Time Player, Media Player Classic, (MPC), and Windows Media Player, but when I try to play via VLC I get, “VLC Media Player has crashed. Would you like to send a bug report to the developers team? I have said yes and no on different occasions. Another window pops up, “There was an error while transferring the data to the FTP server”.
I can play other videos via VLC that are on my computer from another camera, and videos from other camera using the same SD card, I have formatted the SD card to the Mobious, but VLC will not play videos from this Mobius camera.
I have removed the SD card and tried it in a card reader with the same results.
I am using a Kingston 16GB class 4 SD card, some of the sellers info is, “supports up to 32GB, suggest using Class 4 or above”, there was also somewhere, (can’t find it now), advice to use VLC for playback. Surely I do not need to purchase a higher class SD card?
Also the video playback, by one of the other players is jerky and the audio is slightly out of sync with the video.
Any ideas how to get VLC working for this camera?

Are you trying to play the video back off the card?
If so, try copying it onto a computer first before viewing it.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?

I have tried playing off the camera, off the card via a card reader and copying to the computer, all to no avail via VLC.

What size is the file?
What spec is your computer?
If the camera can record onto the card then you don't need a faster card (although class 4 is pretty slow).
If you can view the video in other players, then I'd suggest sticking to them. As an alternate, uninstall VLC and reinstall it, making sure you've got the latest version, also make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Files are about 500mb, not sure about comp spec but it is old, computer plays other videos from a different,(cheaper), camera, and longer files.
I have the latest version of VLC.

Was it you that recently had other issues with VLC? (I recall a thread a month or so ago regarding VLC).
Have you tried reinstalling/updating VLC? What about trying the combined streaming/player version (Acestream Player)?0 -

Yes it was, but this is a different issue, that problem was sorted, this one appears to be some sort of compatibility issue between Mobious and VLC.
Did you read post #6? It tells you I have the latest version of VLC, I assumed by definition that you realised I had "tried reinstalling/updating VLC".;)
Let us not get bogged down by different players, I want VLC to work,(it is supposed to work with this camera), VLC has a couple of "apps" that I want, that the others don't.

Acestream Player is based on VLC. Perhaps these apps also work with it?
Might be worth a try as it might kick things into shape - perhaps there's a setting or registry value not quite right.0
