Sky 3d & phone line query - just upgraded

Hi, finally switched everything to Sky in December and had a nice new HD box and phone line installed. Phone line wasn't connected to box although it says in all the paperwork it must be, however is it true it just does it wirelessly now, so it's something I shouldn't be worrying over? 2nd query is I have a 3d tv yet can't watch the 3d channel, I know I can't watch films/sport but should be able to watch general programmes. Went online and 'activated' it by adding it 'free' to my Plus Extra package but still the message I need to upgrade comes up. Any ideas?

Phone connection is contractually required for 12m, but this is not enforced, most of the installers couldn't give a monkey's about it.
However if you have Multiroom, all boxes must be connected, to pass the callbacks.
I believe the newer boxes can cross check via the network connection. No free lunch, and no free laptop

When I signed up (Sky, bb and phone) I asked specifically about this , as having a trailing cable put me off years ago. I was told that, as the new boxes have wifi connections to the broadband router, there was no need to connect box to phone. (I only have one box)0

Hi, that's what I thought re wireless, neither the tv engineer or the phone engineer mentioned a wire to the tv box. Will leave it as it is. Any help re the 3d appreciated as a quick Google has thrown up quite a few people in the same boat and Sky Cusatomer Services coming in for some slating, so would rather avoid having to phone them.0

There are very few "general" programmes in 3D and, even if you did have Movies and Sport, a lot of the 3D channel's output is pay-per-view for everyone.I have a 3d tv yet can't watch the 3d channel, I know I can't watch films/sport but should be able to watch general programmes.0 -
Hi, thanks for all replies. I went back into my Sky account and realised to activate the 3d I had to go through the whole process of purchasing it (at £0) adding it to basket, clicking terms etc, and it now works. Prior to this following Sky instructions I just clicked 'turn on' which obviously didn't register it at all.0
