Happy Birthday nmic
Both boys at school today. Need to get some bread, cereal and pasta on the way back from dropping youngest off.
WM on - will do towels when I get back, walk doggy and reach the bottom of my ironing pile - did an hours ironing yesterday but still only scratched the surface; the price you pay for taking a few days off from it over Xmas!
I'm another having sausagemeat balls for tea - with pasta, sauce and green beans.
Hugs and best wishes to all for the day ahead x0 -
Morning all,
I did not sleep well either I was still awake at 2.30 just wide awake. I did not want to get up this morning !
Dropping dd at work this morning, then I have to come home and do my paid for office work which should take most of the morning, I then need to go to the vets to collect the dogs insulin. Dinner tonight will be roast chicken roasties cauli and broccoli cheese (frozen from xmas) sprouts and corgette, looking forward to that.
Need to put some towels on to wash after this, I opened the wm yesterday and flooded the utility floor it had not drained for some reason, luckily I shut it quickly and re spun it and it was fine, so need to wash the towels I drabbed to mop up.
We are due more storms today so wont go out other than to the vets.

Morning all!
Happy Birthday nmlc, hope you have a lovely day! :-)
Well, yesterday was incredible! I loved every second of the Harry potter tour!
The best bit was at the start, at the doors to the great hall - as it was my birthday (and another woman on the tour's birthday) we got to push open the doors to the Great Hall to let everyone in! It was absolutely amazing!
The rest of the tour was fantastic, I got to ride a broomstick (and I have the USB of the film!) and I had Butterbeer, got on the Knight Bus, stood at the door of 4 Privet Drive, and saw Hogwarts covered in snow :-)
Spent ALL of my birthday and Christmas money in the gift shop (and my BF spent even more on me too!) I have 2 huge bags of souvenirs!
The money belts are being tightened as of today!
I would highly highly recommend a visit to the studios! It was absolutely amazing!
Need to get packed in a bit and check out of our apartment - our train is at 11am from Kings Cross (it's only a 7 min walk there so not bad!)
I've loved travelling First Class on the train too - it has honestly been an amazing birthday - wish i could turn 30 every year! Ha ha :-)
Hope you all have a good day! Xxxthe only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Good morning!
It's still quite gusty here, but I understand that today is the last of the windy, rainy days - about time too.
I was quite pleased with what I achieved yesterday, during my cupboard sort out - have just got one left to do today. I also managed to get my eBay photography done. So should start writing the descriptions today.
I've got a hair appointment at 1 o'clock. My hairdresser has changed her hours. I used to have a 9 o'clock appointment, which suited better, as I then could just get home and crack on with what I wanted to do. Now I have to break off to go out. Hey ho, just one of those things!

Sat with my cuppa enjoying some peace and quiet but not had any breakfast yet,I'm another who didnt sleep well, but it was DH snoring that did for meHe's not been too bad recently, perhaps he's a bit congested from his recent virus.
Glad you all enjoyed the pic of Lyla, when I was looking for a pic to post I saw the ones when we first got her and the change in the 4 months we've had her is :D.
Donny I reckon she perhaps has another 1/3 to go yet if I compare her to how big Leo was,and a bit of filling out too.Skye is very cute in her coat and much more portable given the travelling you do.I like all dogs but we've always had big 'uns.I do admit it'd take an awful lot of wool to make Lyla a coat though Jackie :rotfl:
fiftyeighter- thanks for the comment on the room,we were in the conservatory at the back cos the lights better in there for photos
I ended up on a mission to clean all my kitchen food cupboards and stocktake yesterday. No real surprises or horrors but they are better organized now.Don't know what came over me :rotfl:must be spending too much time on here
Something with mince today, not decided what yet though, prob cottage pie as I have lots of spuds lo from Xmas.Hope you all have the best day you can x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Morning all
Hoping for a much better day today, so far so good.
The school run has been done, animals all fed, just a quick tidy round and then a trip to the tip is in order as I'm swamped with recycling, for some reason we never had a collection last week.
DS is at rugby after school so no doubt he'll be coming home looking like he has took a mud bath so will get the water on ready to run a bath for him.
Dinner tonight is beef stew, also going to make a veg soup to last me for lunches all week.
Happy birthday nmlc - hope you have a lovely day x
Glitterkitty - your day sounds wonderful x

Morning all,
grey and glowering sky here: lots of water up there. We were woken in the night by peculiar sounding thunder and saw some lightning, but it was as if the storm couldn't be bothered to do it properly.
I have another batch of dreary towels whizzing round in the machine turning Bermuda Blue. £11 odd for dye and salt = 7 bright blue towels in various sizes. I bought the dye postage free via the "Bay of E" as I couldn't find any in town, no doubt it would be less expensive in a shop.
A GF friend is coming for dinner so we're having cottage pie, which I made yesterday and we are finishing off the meringue nests with fruit.
The cupboard is looking leaner as I am using up the stocks now while I am on my cooking binge. I may well make cake this afternoon as a delaying tactic to avoid the ironing.
I have some blood tests today at the surgery - normally they reserve the appointments for elderly patients but they've kindly made me a special case as I don't drive and going to the hospital takes almost an hour and two buses each way.
I've just cut a long paragraph of waffle - anything rather than sort out the kitchenI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Morning all,
:bdaycake:nmlc Enjoy it!
Having my hair cut this afternoon. Lady coming to the house. It hasn't been cut since July and is pretty wild:rotfl: I have gone completely grey too, but actually I like it! Will save some money not having it dyed:rotfl:
Took a sleeping pill last night, didn't wake till 8.30 and still feel sleepy now.
Got to get some more stuff sorted out for the hospice shop. I didn't realise how much I had, and with new eyes have decided to have a de- clutter. No one needs all the clothes I've got!:T
Have a good day all!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Hi everyone,
Happy birthday NMLC.
The tour sounds great glitterkitty, we're not far from there so might try to get there, but I wouldn't know who to go with. DS is a mad fan of the books (Harry Potter got him reading for pleasure when all else failed) but not so much of the films.
I'm glad I don't have to go out today because the weathers been madly apocalyptic so far this morning. I shall spend the day finishing my lists of food in the house, only the fridge and freezer to go and then meal planning from it.
I need to make a loaf of bread and get back into the habit of it. I stopped because DH started the 5:2 fasting and we don't use nearly as much bread. I will make a lentil soup for dinner because it's a fast day. He's been doing it since July and it has really made a difference.
Have a good day everyone.0
