question for sky adsl customer formerly with o2/ bethere

I've just completed my switch over from o2/ bethere to Sky adsl.
My exact same modem router says that there is a slow down of near enough 1 meg.
Has this happened to others or am I privalidged?

    Have you just migrated?

If so you need to wait 10 days during which they establish the optimum speed for you.
  • Hi Quentin,
Any chance that you could tell me any more?
I did point out the slow down to sky but they are adament that I am at max speed

What else would you like to know?

(When did you go onto sky?)
  • To answer your question, I joined sky in terms of being able to use their hub as it is known on 6Th Jan
I'd be interested to know how long it took your speeds to change, what the change was

I don't have sky, just trying to help you.

When you start with a new isp, you should not worry about the speed until the initial "training" period is completed.

For around 10 days they gradually increase the speed to find the optimum for your line.

Google sky broadband training period to learn more.

If its still slow after 10 days then assuming no faults are found, then that is the best sky can do you.

Have you left your router switched on, as instructed ?
  • Hi Every One,

    To try and answer every one;

I've left my Netgear modem-router on
The first night for some odd reason the download speed has dropped but the upload has increased slightly

What is meant by posting line statistics, please?
