Watching that programme made my blood boil.
I can't type anything about it without wanting to go into a cataclysmic rage full of swear words.
Calling them scumbags would be exceptionally mild.0 -
Yes, it was a great night to stay at home and shout at the television.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

I gave up watching commercial TV because I cant afford the monthly rent to Sky or the TV license. Staving off the freezing temperatures by inching up my heating (a degree at a time and being careful not to go too far lest the boiler run all day long and bankrupt me) I have discovered a new found appreciation for being huddled under a duvet, cuddling a hot water bottle, reading a book by the light of my energy saving lightbulb.
Unfortunately, I work for a living and therefore do not qualify for the massive TV's/Sky, iPhones or subsidised rent and utilities that a growing majority enjoy.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it
Meet my best friend : YNAB (you need a budget)

now come on, to not provide this to them would be a violation of their human rights.....Liberty would be breathing down our neck if we pulled the funding.....
but when you look at some of the program participants, its just generations of chavs.....and the i cant imagine what the next two generations will be like.....0 -
I watched this and I agree there were some who came across as lazy arris spongers but there were a couple of vulnerable people, notably Fungi, who I believe should be helped by the state.
The persistent thief should have his hands cut off, prison is not working for him. He apparently had a good life once, nice car/own home etc but clearly thinks living off the state is a better option else why perpetuate the situation?
The couple - the ginger female and the rotund male, why the $@!£ weren't they working?! Sat around all day complaining that "their" money is being stopped....tough £"!$, get a job if you don't like it.
I sat gobsmacked watching it and will watch the next installmentI have a simple philosophy:
Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.

Yes, and I'm sure he declares this self employed income the the benefits people and on his tax return.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

It was the first of a series but it doesn't look like they had to exactly look too hard for things to point the camera at.
What struck me was how striking it was that those people weren't the way they were because they were on benefits, but rather they were on benefits because of their lifestyle choices, attitudes to society, and (lack of) work ethic.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
