Problems with Orange
This is a little complicated so please bear with me!
My partner had an Iphone 4 contract with Orange and he got himself a Samsung S3 (and a contract) through them towards the end of his Iphone contract. He notified Orange he didn't want to renew the Iphone contract when it ended and was was told to call Orange on a certain date towards the end of last year. He did this and got through to an Indian call centre where she terminated the contact on the Samsung not the Iphone
My partner was very clear on the phone but I suspect the Orange rep got her wires crossed...
He didn't realise this until the Samsung phone was cut off and he contacted Orange to ask why where the mix up became clear.
They apologised and reconnected the Samsung and cancelled the Iphone (like he'd asked initially!).
He checks at his bank account online on the 23rd or December to see a pending debit for just over £450 from Orange! He phones the bank and tells them he has not authorised this payment and the put a block on it, he then calls Orange to be told it's a disconection fee. He asks for what exactly? His payments are taked by Direct Debit each month and he's not behind with payments. Turned out he was being charge the disconection fee for the Samsung which Orange mistakenly disconnected
He pointed out this and the apologised (again!) and was told that there was no charge and it would be removed from his account.
Here's where it gets a bit confusing!
I also had a Samsung S3 but on PAYG and as part of my Christmas box he got me a pay monthly sim and would pay the years contract for me himself (nice man
). He called Orange once I'd inserted the sim and said he was paying the monthly bill for my phone, so they put my phone onto his account (with my permission).
I log into my online account to make sure my magic numbers have been transferred to my new pay monthly account and the £450+ debt shows on my account! He called Orange again and they said it was on there as the accounts are linked but it would be removed on the next billing cycle (in two days).
I logged into the account this morning and it's still on there PLUS another £54.24  Will have to wait for the OH to get home tonight and try and sort it again.
Really dissapointed in Orange, we've ahad a few hiccups in all the years we've been with them...I know they have a bad reputation online but they've been ok until now.
They say they will do something and just don't, or !!!! it up spectacularly!
