I was gifted with an S3 which I think is am amazing phone but does far more than I am able to appreciate at the moment! However, I am trying to get to grips with it.

I have a few gripes and am not sure how to change or deal with them and am wondering if anyone out there can help/advise.

1. How do I change the ring-tone for the text messages?

2. How do I turn off the alarm/noise for all my emails without cancelling the text message alarm?

3. Is there a decent case which protects both the screen and the actual handset from both scratches and from the screen smashing if I accidentally drop it on the floor?

4. Is there a good app that I can edit my photo sizes with so I can get an emailed image to fit onto my screen so I can turn it into a screensaver?

Hi there, I have an S3 and use a free app called Zedge to change my text tones, ringtones and wallpapers https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.zedge.android&hl=en_GB
There's loads to choose from and it's easy to use!
Not sure about questions 2 & 4 but both me and my partner use this case: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008811SV8/ref=pe_217191_31005151_dp_1 Cheap and does the job :p

    1. I think by default it's 'Notification ringtone' that can be changed in Settings >> Sound

    2. Most likely you can set an individual ringtone (or 'none') for every e-mail account. Try Meny >> Account settings when you are in e-mails.

    3. The better it protects, the more bulky it is. For my smartphone it's a primitive screen protector film plus a silicone case.

    4. I am pretty sure it will fit automatically regardless of the size. Not sure about the proportions.

    1. How do I change the ring-tone for the text messages?

Open messaging then press the key next to home button/settings/select ringtone.

    2. How do I turn off the alarm/noise for all my emails without cancelling the text message alarm?

setting/accounts/email/settings/press email address/select ringtone and then press silent/if you want to vibrate then tick the box you will see a box for that.

    4. Is there a good app that I can edit my photo sizes with so I can get an emailed image to fit onto my screen so I can turn it into a screensaver?

There's loads of them on the Google Play I just use Quickpic.
