Which Phone is best for texting?

A very general question I know, but I would like to buy a new mobile phone for my wife. The main use of the phone apart from calls will be texting.

I asked what would she like and she said a Samsung Galaxy Ace or a Blackberry.

Can anyone advise what would be best any deals out there?

It must be PAYG.

Thanks

Which Blackberry? They still do several models of handset, the post is a bit confusing as it is asking which is the best for texting, some like physical keyboards or buttons, some can live with on screen type, some like 12 button keyboards some like qwerty, some like predictive text or swipe some don't, basically there isn't a best and anyone that tells you otherwise is barefaced telling you a lie.

As above: surely she knows if she wants a physical keyboard or a touchscreen one? And whether a full QWERTY k/b or not?
They're fairly fundamental differences between the 2 phones mentioned.

Current phone (about 5 years old) is a Samsung qwerty keyboard but the buttons are so small it's very difficult to text. You have to use our nails. I would think a touchscreen one would be fine

Ace was a very poor phone even when it was released 3 years ago.
Ace 2 and 3 are better, but there are better phones around for the same price or similar phones much cheaper.
    E.g. Huawei Y300 costs just about £40.

You have to decide how much you want to spend.
