I remember two posts a day and I was born late seventies so it must have gone on into the eighties...0

I am pretty certain they still existed into the '90's.
edit- I've had a quick Google and it appears to be have phased out about 7 years ago.0 -
We did, second post was axed in 2002. 1st post was supposedly delivered before 9:00am with second post by noon, the replacement single delivery arrives here anything up to 3:00pm.

The second delivery wasn't scrapped until 2004!0

We had two deliveries when I was young in the 90's; first around 8am(ish) and the second by 1pm. Would be very useful if we had that again now!
Our post is generally delivered around 10am with bulkier deliveries arriving whenever people can be bothered to deliver them (or so it seems)...my parents post regularly isn't with them until gone 1pm! Couldn't live with that myself************************************

hi all
thanks for replies, i've been in london for 30 yrs where we've never had a second delivery so thought i was imagining it..
anyway needed to know because it supports a longterm argument with a friend about 'where all the money gone'

My friend collects Victorian postcards. The post was so reliable that the messages on the back say things like "Dear Mum, I'll be home this evening so can you cook me some kippers for tea" - posted in the morning and delivered in time for Mum to cook his favourite meal.0

Yes I remember this .. two posts.. early and late in practice before leaving for school and early afternoon.
This was out in the countryside so must have been expensive.0 -
Yep, I too remember 2 posts a day. Nowadays, ours comes sometime between noon (if we're really lucky) and 15:00 as a rule; then I have to check that everything that's come through the door is actually for us.:(
It does serve an additional purpose though - if I hear the post come and I haven't remembered to have my lunch, it does galvanise me into action to get something to eat!:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
