Are you aware that this is called "Praise, Vent and Warnings" not "Posts about the worst thing that has ever happened to me"?

When I lived in a flat and someone parked in my space, I just blocked them in. When the door bell rang, I said that I'd assumed they were a friend of my partners, and told them they'd have to wait an hour as I was about to get I the bath.

the temptation to tell them I'd had a large glass of wine so couldn't move my car til morning...
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I live in a block of flats with designated parking. I came home last night at 8pm and some tw4t is in my space, they are still there now.

What type of person does that? There's plenty of visitors parking so it's not like they needed my space.

If I wasn't worried about my car getting vandalised I would let their tyres down.

Some folk just think they can do what they want.

Someone previously mentioned the Protection of Freedoms Act. They were correct that is now illegal to block in another car, irrespective of whether it's private or public land:

Lawful authority doesn't mean you're the land owner. It's to with being licensed or law authority, I think.

    Interesting however....

To get back to their car they would have to enter private land without permission. Therefore tresspassing! So if I don't give permission to use my land you are breaking the law parking your car on it. Simples.

I have this problem too. I don't actually need my space, but its nice to use it when i have visitors.
but its never available as theres always someone else parked in it.

part of the problem is that each flat has 1 space, but one of the flats has 4 cars (even thou its just 1 person)

I don't drive either. There are 4 parking spaces with only two used by residents but no-one uses the other spare one because it is more difficult to access.

It used to really annoy me to come home and find yet another different car in my space. It might seem petty to some, but I've paid for the space so the least I can do is let my friends and family park there when they visit.

I brought this up at a management meeting and we agreed that no one should use anyone else's parking space without consent. My neighbours now ring me if they have family or friends visiting who want to use my space and it works well - and I have less stress.
