O2 PAYG Tariff reduced?

My mother has been on O2 PAYG for about 2 years and she says she got a text with details about reductions coming in on 1st July.
Basically Same Network is 10ppm for the first 3 minutes then 5p per minute.
O2 has never been a cheap network and there current charges are 25p for the first 3 minutes, so i presume she is getting confused or anyone else heard about this.
I am thinking about going to Tescos PAYG, because it is O2 and alot cheaper, but might wait if O2 reduce their charges?

As far as i can make out from the message it says
From what I can make out seems that:
- 0845, 0800 calls etc rising from 15p to 25p
- 10% extra bonus on every top-up after you upgrade being stopped for new upgraders
- 10p minimum call charge (up from 5p). Says that first three minutes have a minimum charge of 10p followed by 5p per min for each minute after. I can't make out whether this means that it's now 10p per min for each of the first three mins instead of 25p or whether it simply means minimum 10p call charge.
- 10% extra on your first ATM top-up finishes at the end of June.
Therefore i think alot of people are getting confused i.e. i think the true charge for a 2m 10 second call will 60p (2x25p and 1 x 10p minimum charge)0 -
My understanding from the message is that the minimum charge for a CALL is increasing from 5p to 10p with the exception that if you are in the 5p/min band then it remains at 5p. So a 2m 10sec call will still cost the same as before.
It is not a connection charge on top of the call but a minimum charge for the call.
Therefore a 12sec call when you are in the 25p/min band will increase from 5p to 10p and a 60sec call when you are in the 5p/min band will remain at 5p. I think!!
Virgin is increasing its min charge to 10p and T-mobile is increasing to 15p/min from 12p/min for calls.
No doubt the networks will blame their price increases on the EU for forcing them to reduce their rip-off roaming charges!!0 -

Yeah i think O2 have not made it clear, which has confused alot of people, my mother still thinks they are dropping the price to 10ppm. Which i very much doubt.
I am actually moving from T-Mobile to Tesco, which is O2, but a lot cheap 15ppm any network any time and 5p texting. I also get £5 credit when i port my number. Seems wierd how Tesco uses the O2 network and can offer a really good Tariff, that beats O2 hands down.

don't forget your Tesco 3 favourite nos are half price too, unless that's changed. They are 40p a min on roaming too which is eye wateringly expensive but amazingly still better than the opposition AFAIK. Their customer service is ok, prob not as friendly as TMob when you have a problem but that's the only downside I've experienced. Depends where you are too - I have 2 PAYGs, one to call TMobile nos and the Tesco for everything else and in London the Tesco/O2 coverage is way better.0
