It is fully functional. One dead pixel does not mean the computer doesn't work.
Also, is it dead or stuck?
This may help:

It is a constant green dot on the screen on a brand new item I don't think that is acceptable0

I had exactly the same situation, even the same brand laptop, only with Littlewoods(same company as Very), a five minute phone call to HP,who gave me a number to give to Littlewoods,I then had a new laptop and the original retuned within 48 hours,I was informed that although your contract is with the retailer, the retailer has a right to examine the goods and it would save time if I dealt with HP rather than Littlewoods.0

Was it the same fault because with what I'm now being told in this thread HP may not recognise it as faulty0

OK, a green dot is not a dead pixel, it's a stuck one.
