Recommend any good apps to get organised around the home?
Hi MSE wonders. Can anyone recommend any good apps to get me more organised around the home. I have just acquired an !pad and am testing out a few free 'to do' style apps but not sure I've found the right one yet. Pre !pad, I used a Christmas notebook for organising Christmas, I meal plan weekly and have a master shopping list from which I do my weekly list. I try to keep track of jobs that need doing around the home on a list (such as fix the lock on bathroom door!) but I was hoping to do all of this on my !pad now. Currently I'm testing evern*te and err*nds. I also played with c*szi briefly as well as anyl*st, but couldn't get on with those.
Please help, I'm sure you organised bunch can point me in the right direction. Oh and ideally I'd like the app to be free or v low cost!
Thanks for reading! Happy Sunday!

It sounds as if you are doing just fine with a pen and paper to be honest. This ia a money saving site after all. :rotfl: I would stick with that.
I don't know the ones you mean and can't make them out with the astrikes
but if I used an app then I would just end up playing on the internet and do nothing at all.

Evernote is a fantastic notebook application and it's free, it works on Android, Apple and Windows so you can access your notebooks from any gadgets that you might have.Piglet

I keep some shopping lists on my Evernote that correspond to a week's meal plan. So I know that "week 1 Winter" list contains all the items I need it implement my list of recipes for "week 1 Winter meal plan" which I keep at home.
For everything else apart from tracking expenses I find pen and paper much more useful than an app.
There's something more definite about writing tasks done rather than having them electronically.
I tried several apps before realising technology isn't always better!well done for being so organised though, you are doing a terrific job! :beer:0 -
Thanks for the replies. Can I ask, have you managed to link your shopping list to your menu on ev*rnote, or did you have to enter items manually on each list? The idea is that if I'm going to do these things on an app instead of bits of paper and files etc. then I want it to save me the time of keep rewriting things, if you know what I mean!

I just typed in the items.
They're not linked to the meal plan electronically.
It was easy peasy though bc I use the meal plans in the book Saving Dinner by Leanne Ely (paperback much better for this purpose than the kindle version).
Each week when I was meal planning I typed in the list of items needed for that week. I put at the top which meal plan it was and the page number the meal plan was on.
At the moment I have the shopping lists of 5 completely different meal plans stored in Evernote so meal planning takes two minutes each week now - all I do is pick a week!
I tried many many meal planning systems but this is the only one I've stuck to. The recipes are fast (under 30min total time), simple and in the year I've been doing them only about 3 recipes weren't to our taste. We discovered many scrummy recipes which I wouldn't normally have tried.
Anything else I can help with, let me know

Well to get organized either you need to have app that manage the time and keep track of it or the task management tool that help you manage the tasks in a specific manner. The tool that I have been using to be organized and well planned is the one from Replicon. Check with it. I hope you will to like the same.0
