Aldi satellite kit any good at £69?

Aldi have a satellite kit in our local store for £69
It's a dish, a receiver box and various bits of cable etc.
This could be the solution to our plan to put a tv in our kitchen diner where there's no aerial point.
Don't really want to chop into the aerial cable elsewhere and split it, as the ordinary "freeview via aerial" signal is temperamental.
What I'm not sure is what range of channels these sat receivers get.
Dim question but is this different to freesat?
Thanks in advance for any info:D:D
Ps... Think these were a special back in June

To be honest, putting up another aerial will be no more expensive than one of these kits.
There is no need to split the aerial cable.
The range of channels is from Freesat-you only get subscription satellite channels from Sky.
If I were you, I'd either fit one of these satellite dishes and run both of your TVs with individual feeds from it or I'd have a new aerial installed and the other one repaired/replaced as necessary. Your aerial signal should not be "temperamental"0 -
Unless that box is a Freesat one, you won't get the Freesat EPG.
There's nothing on that link to say that it's Freesat? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I can only go by the website, not in-store, but by the looks of it it's not 'Freesat' but merely 'free satellite'. Freesat is a platform that includes an EPG and lots of other standardisations that don't exist for 'free satellite' boxes.
Anyway, OP, if you're doing this yourself, I'd rather fit another aerial, and get a cheap FreeviewHD box, unless you know you're in an area with poor reception.0 -

Thanks everyone.... I'll look at the 2nd aerial option. I want to fit this myself so it will be at fascia board height rather than chimney stack height, but hopefully will be ok....0

Can you see any other aerials in your locality attached under the gutter? There's a reason for that...0 -

Not unless the transmitter is in line with that side of the house it won't.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Not unless the transmitter is in line with that side of the house it won't. The pitched roof will otherwise block the signal. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
On no account screw an aerial to the fascia board. The bracket needs to be bolted to a solid wall or lashed to a chimney. Also check local bylaws. Two aerials might not be permitted. A masthead amplifier/splitter makes more sense and, if your existing system is faulty, now's a good time to get it fixed.0
