Modern electric heaters (not storage) and Immersion Boiler - Do I need Eco 7 deal??

So ill try and buyout early, try not to provide meter readings but secretly gain one for myself...

When they try gain one hopefully they will fail and try and charge me an estimate, if this is higher than our actual then I will have to just make do with it..

I am bracing myself for a shocking bill but there is no way on earth I could even make up the money until after April when this internship ends, hopefully the company will offer me a full time position and i could probably pay it off reasonably quickly!

I love living life cheap but this is takin the !!!! a bit with all of the epic help the council (have not) given me!!

Hi,

if you abscond without giving a meter reading, the next person moving in will give a reading, you will then be billed on that reading, and then will be traced for payment, sorry, no escape.

Oh no we are staying in the flat, its just the "fixed price plan" with SSE ends in March, were staying in the flat until July 2015 so were not running from anything but will be moving onto another company or plan afterwards thats all...

Hi,

yes, but to switch supplier you will have to give a final reading to old supplier and that reading will be used for new supplier.

Try to get a reading soon, and get an idea how things are.

Are the future tariffs you wish to switch to likely to be cheaper than the fixed tariff that ends in March? Very doubtful. Why would you want to pay a higher price for your past usage? If you are still there then the readings will filter through and have to be paid for at the higher price. Unless the SSE tariff is a very poor price then it would make more sense to pay them.

ETA: then again, as you are electricity only then you probably can switch to a cheaper tariff. But why not leave today? With three winter months left the cheaper price should outweigh an early leaving charge.

We just bought into a £22 a month fixed price plan because it was the best on the energy comparison sites when we browsed and we didnt know what we were getting ourselves into... I have tried to find out the current standing charge for this plan but I cannot so I have messaged the "head of customer service" email to find out...

I know for a fact any other plan is going to be more expensive and I now know to compare KWh + standing charges and not "quoted prices" or "fixed prices" which are just fckin horrendous...

I was hoping there would be an easy way out of SSE's devious price plan but it seems im gonna have to stick with it until the end, provide the reading at the end and setup a payment plan whilst switching to any better providers I guess...

Wonderbag is a bag filled with recycled, but non-biodegradable polystyrene (Styrofoam) beans.

If as you say you have no way to 'store space heat or heated water' you are unlikely to benefit from E7. The flat regardless of your fragile observation that it has a good standard of insulation appears to not have been designed for E7 and therefore an E7 PartL water cylinder is unlikely to be installed, in which case leaving the tank permanently switched on is also a no-no !

Its not polystyrene balls its some kind of cotton wool like material that you have to pull apart and spread out when you first get it so it takes shape... They are genius but we need to find a metal pot with clips on the lid so it doesnt leak if it tips over or anything but they are lookin pretty pricey!

So yeah, no eco7, keep boiler on 2 hours in the morning and as-and-when in the evenings, stay away from fixed price plans with major energy companies and compare their daily charge and KWh rates next time I buy into a contract, not their quoted prices!

info here on E7, though don't think it will benefit you as you don't have storage heating.
