Sounds like you had a good night out :D

Oh kids bedrooms always seem to reproduce little bits everywhere :rotfl: Take it steady with regular tea breaks!

Well done on the chicken curry already in the slow cooker, sounds fab.

You've got a plan for CC payments in Feb, that's the important thing. You're doing really well, keep going (after a lie down on the couch) :D
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18
  • Sounds like it's going great with DB.

Re: car boots - try to do eBay first. I promise anything that would sell at car boot, you'll make 10 times that on eBay. If it doesn't sell on eBay it probably wouldn't sell at a car boot for less than 50p, so it's probably not worth the time & effort going, you might as well charity shop it.

Have a super week lovely :)
  • Good to hear you enjoyed yourself!
Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Progress not perfection.:T100%through my 1% mortgage challenge. 100% through my pb challenge.
  • Such a manic day yesterday! Scrubbed DDs room within an inch of it's life...had to force myself! Glad I did now it's all shiny (chucked and sorted) however DB not coming back today due to hunting for a home (near his dd). Good news though as he's been really productive and sorted loads out. Room ready for when he comes to stay with dd (unless I get a lodger by then?)

So don't understand much about ebay!!! Got to swat up! Also have been refunded money into my paypal account from ebay purchase. Will this show up on my current account statement? Such an ebay novice :o

Had to pay another £15 on CC for dds breakfast club and dinners. Thank god I'm up to date with After school club. Don't have access to my account until new debit card arrives and not near any bank here. :(

    PAYDAY CANNOT COME FAST ENOUGH!!!!

I think my mobile phone contract with Voda is up soon. Again...what is a SIM only contract so many of you are excited about??? I want one! My last contract was for 2 years with an upgraded phone for free. I text a lot and use the internet but don't phone much. Want to do everything to shave off monthly outgoings (Ali..my guru...any advice??;)) My current phone is a bit battered.

Oh dear...double treacle sponge for pudding at lunch (school dinners) I am not one of life's dieters I'm afraid!

I'll happily hand over the baton for eBay and mobile phones :rotfl:

Still getting to grips with eBay here really - did sell £55 worth of stuff yesterday, which translates to £41 after Paypal fees, eBay fees and postage. Still, it's £40 more than I had before I started and 3 things that are not cluttering up the house anymore :D

I would guess if you've been refunded to Paypal, you need to log into Paypal and 'withdraw' the money - should show your bank account details so you can confirm that's where you want it to go. No fee for that either!

Mobile phones, well I've got an old Blackberry on PAYG as I don't use it much (sad person that I am :rotfl:) and put on probably £5 a month. I've got a business one which is on contract with Orange - mega mins for phone, text and internet which costs the business £24 a month with a Samsung Galaxy smartphone which I love (says she of techno-phobia :D). It's an older model called an Ace, but perfectly modern enough for an old bat like me :D and endorsed by DS. So I'm reasonably cool as a teenager's Mum in that respect :D

I'm sure you could get a contract with good mins/text/internet for probably £12-15 a month with a mid-range phone and the free replacement/upgrade after 12 months. Everything is cheaper than an iPhone!

Heard good things about SIM only from Giff-Gaff for £4.99 but not got any experience.

Have you got bills from the past 12 months so you can get a good idea of what you use and need in terms of minutes for calls, text numbers and amount of internet use per month? Will save wild guestimates and over-paying for something you won't use to its max. Worth doing so you know what you're looking for to start with.

    Happy phone/SIM/package researching :D

Ooh and don't forget, use a site like Envirofone to get a cost for selling your phone to them, if you end up getting a new one. :D

You can sell anything as random as you want! I tend to pick things small enough/light enough so they're easy to post, or bigger, heavier things I put for Collection only.

I've sold lots of different stuff over the years from clothes, perfume, handbag, purse, storage box, wardrobe, chest of drawers, small unwanted gifts to an unopened linen look table cloth. Go round and see what you can find! Sold alot of DS's clothes on there when he was much younger and I was on DFW first time around!

I use recycled packaging where I can of jiffy bags, boxes, bubble wrap, but have had to buy brown paper and tape. Got a little stash now.

I also start packaging when I've got a bid, so when the auction is finished and the buyer pays, it's ready to send pretty quickly.

Definitely not exploiting eBay enough - got DS's old laptop still sitting here that has a broken keyboard and a broken digital camera (motor) but with all the bits/accessories - wondering if either or both are worth putting on there?
