Muzzle needed.

Just an update. My MIL had a letter from the council saying the man had repoerted the incident as a dangerous dog to them and the council had to follow it up with an advisory letter that we needed to keep our dog on a lead and muzzled or further action would be taken.
MIL wrote a reply to the council stating that the other owner was in the wrong as 1 it was his dog that was off the lead, 2 she expressed a clear audible shout of a warning (includng hand gestures incase he was hard of hearing) several times for them to control their dog and each time it was ignored, 3 our dog was muzzled and restrained appropriately. She also pointed out that this wasn't the first incident in the past month as we had previously had another altercation wtih a small dog who had slipped its owners grip resulting in injury to our dog costing us vetinary fees (which wernt able to be reclaimed on insurance as the other owner didnt have any and we wernt able to claim on ours as we had no details of the other owner) and a traumatised dog. Which they are able to check with our vets (contact info supplied).
So far there has been no further response from the council.
We are hopefully awaiting the arrival of a new muzzle this week but our dog is still muzzled temporary with the no bite muzzle on his daily walks at the moment but the vet has reccomended this not be used all the time due to the breed.
Thanks again
