Still sending caller ID when set to hide?

I've recently bought a Samsung GT-E1190.
I went into Settings>Phone>Caller Information, and set it to Hide.
However, when I ring the mobile I use as a house phone, the number is transmitted

which networks are you using for each phone?A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

Virgin for the Samsung GT-E1190, and T-Mobile for the home phone.
Mind you, I'm still getting the number sent, when I ring my other phone, which is on Orange.0 -
What happens if you prefix the called number with 141? Does it still reveal your caller ID?
If this is a problem at the network level, then the network is breaching Regulation 11 of the Telecommunications (Data Protection and Privacy) Regulations 1999.0 -
...or the setting you are looking at is to do with whether your phone displays the contact information or just the phone number when receiving a call.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Just tried it, and no it doesn't, but I didn't need to do that on previous phones.
I just turned off "Send my number" in the settings.
BTW. Will dialling 141 interfere with the free unlimited calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers I get with my call package?0 -
No, it's just more of a hassle to dial because you can't easily dial from your contacts with 141, unless you insert 141 into the contact entry, which is messy and awkward.Bedsit_Bob wrote: »BTW. Go to Settings>Applications>Call>All calls>Show my number, then select "Hide".0

Also may people don't answer withheld numbers, so you may find the very people you are trying to call, refuse to answer as they don't know the number.0 -
Most of my calls are to businesses (work, council, doctors, etc.), and they answer withheld numbers.0

I don't see your point. That potential issue is no different when using the 141 method compared to using the method that the OP is trying to use. Also may people don't answer withheld numbers, so you may find the very people you are trying to call, refuse to answer as they don't know the number.0
