Nexus S - Bad Echo

Hey guys,

I appreciate this might be more of a place for finding deals for phones and tariffs as opposed to tech support, however, I thought I'd ask anyway on the off chance someone could help - after all, the Nexus S was on special at £200 a couple of years ago so there's a chance a few MSE'ers will own one.

Basically whenever I call someone or they call me they complain they can hear their own voice and an echo. It seems this is multiple people - some on the same network as me, some on different networks, it also happens at home and at work (so two distinctly different geographic locations).

I do have a cover which I removed, however, it still seems to be the same.

Right now I'm considering just getting a new handset, however, I like everything else about the phone and don't need a better one at the moment.

Any suggestions much appreciated :)

Put the SIM in a different handset - and try again. It may be handset related, BUT more often caused by BTS issues (base station) and outwith control of the handset.

The other thing to try - do you have a headset/earphones with mic for it?
If you plug them in and use them for a call do people still get the echo?
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?
