I don't really understand what Fergus Wilson gains by courting all this notoriety.0

What has his weight and dress sense got to do with anything??
They emphasise the fact that
1 you can't buy class
2 no point in being rich (on paper) if you're highly likely to suffer from multiple unpleasant health conditions. Type 2 diabetes doesn't care about your property portfolio.
My parents are younger, healthier, and are enjoying their retirement pottering around, modest holidays, bit of this n that etc. They're not millionaires, but neither are they famous knob-heads.They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
I don't understand why Kent council hasn't arranged for some of these houses to be bought by either the council or a housing association? Even if they bought the ones with vulnerable tenants that would be something because after all the vulnerable tenants are presumably renting from Fergus because Kent can't offer them any social housing?0

I don't think many councils have the policy of buying houses. The govt policy is to pay out LHA to private LLs instead.
Some HAs do buy older houses - but they buy them empty and fill them from the social waiting list.
If either social LL bought the houses with sitting tenants - that would mean those tenants would be given secure tenancies ahead of the official allocation policy / list etc.0 -

Not sure. I suppose it's one way to publicize the fact that all his houses are (still) up for sale.FACT.0 -

The guy must be a trillionaire by now he's sold it so many times.
I see he's got himself on Panorama which is why he's sold it yet again to the Chinese / Arabs / space lizards of Betelgeuse V.
There was a love in on here some time ago when he supposedly sold the lot and became "very rich", unfortunately it was all hogwash it seems. I would imagine that demand for the type of property he is trying to sell has plummeted since then, and he seems to have missed the idea that health is the cornerstone of all "Wealth". The tenants wailing that he "controls their lives" is pretty underwhelming as well, just move if you don`t like him. BTL is a political football now and this guy is just an easy target IMO.0 -

It isn't complicated (I don't mean to sound rude, but this is the truth), he is a nutter, it really is as simple as that. Just because he is rich (and he is very rich Crashy) but that doesn't say anything more about him than his wealth, let's face it, who would swap places with him! I certainly wouldn't.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

It’s hard for tenants on benefits to find places at all but especially if they have extra needs e.g. for a wheelchair.
Telling someone physically disabled to “just move” is a bit like telling someone whos begging to get a job.
I have been coming round to the conclusion that there isn’t a general housing crisis for millennial snowflakes but there is a crisis for those on benefits and the vulnerable because one of the downsides of exchanging social housing for private landlords is that they have a greater chance (than those of us who would be capable of just moving) of ending up in a slum or with a terrible landlord like Fergus. This is bad enough for anybody but more difficult for people who are vulnerable, aren’t articulate, don’t know their rights, shy away from confrontation and might have mental health issues.0 -

And unfortunately, these people are also less likely to vote - which is why this situation has developed.0
