Silly old sod, 70yrs old and weighing 20-odd stone, how long does he have left honestly, should have retired 5-10 years ago with a nice few million in the back, hanging on for so long he'll have more than halved his remaining quality lifespan in return for money he won't have a prayer of spending.
He probably wouldn't be able to adjust to retirement & without anything to do then that money might not last him very long either.0 -
I thought it was funny how he boasted that the sales at the auctions made him a million each time. They are heavily mortgaged and lots have been empty for months, all he's doing is lowering some of his debts.0

With what is happening these days with hate crime I do hope this thread backs off a little and is careful what it says about Fergus and his wife. Reading housepricecrash.com this morning I am considering reporting them to the police, some going as far as wishing and hoping for his death, sick nasty people on that site.
At the end of the day Fergus is just a business man who has what they don't have 700 times over, just envy at it's worst, and on here it seems0 -

IMO he's free to do what he wants as long as he follows the law, which is the governments job to sort out. They haven't done a great job and the media is giving him a notoriety that he doesn't deserve.
I wouldn't want to be him.0 -

I agree, the man has just tried to better himself and pulled it off. I know far tougher LL's then Fergus who you would not want to mess with, Fergus is a !!!!! cat IMO.
I read the venom directed at him and realise how envious and bitter some people are. If they want what he has then they should get off their backsides and get it,0 -

He doesn't have anything I especially want:
-bad dress sense
-an unhealthy extra 5 stone or so
-a reputation for being crass, greedy and exploitative
-a completely unrelaxing retirement spending time in courtThey are an EYESORES!!!!0 -

Give the super-aggressive approach that they took towards expanding their 'empire' [aggressively sinking a large proportion of any new HPI-driven equity that they biult up straight back into more property, minimum deposit down every time] I don't think it's inconceivable that they were, on paper, totally wiped out for, say, a couple of years around the turn of the decade, but then for most of this decade I'm sure that they've comfortably been multimillionaires... I get the impression with them that they've spent this time stubbornly chasing the net worth they, in say early 2007, hoped that they'd have achieved by now, e.g. well into nine figures, rather than just being grateful for the substantial probably eight figure fortune that they did have.FACT.0
