Re Mr EH's pension. You need to pay a lump back or they do? If it's you then that's a bit wrong to expect you to stump it up in one go!

They made the deductions at the wrong point Starnac, so the tax has been accounted for twice. And yes, I agree totally - it is, but I suspect they're going to do it anyway!

So. Plans for the next few days. There will be spendiness - the last of the Christmas bits need buying and paying, aside from everything else. Having said that so far as I can think everything should be covered from our budget, so that's helpful. Need to go through and work out what we still need to buy for people I think - a bottle of whisky for MrEH's Dad is one definite, and I need some more odds and ends for my parents, and my Great Aunt, too. MUST go to the market on Saturday as I want to get a planted basket for Gt Aunt too - just hoping they have something bright and colourful enough to work for her ever decreasing level of eyesight now. Got a couple of bits still to get for friends - but lacking in inspiration a bit there - and also a parcel to post to another pal which MUST go this si9de of the weekend so that had better be a tomorrow job.

Took advantage of the offer that Martin mentioned in his email this week last night - £25 reward for spending £100 with Amazon on our Nationwide Credit card. Also hopefully stacked it with the £7 free credit if you spend £30 or more on Christmas Gift Cards - in the absence of being able to come up with £100 of stuff to buy, the gift cards seemed like a good option - means we've got money sitting there against odds and ends in the new year that way too. Just need to wait and see if the £25 gets credited now!

Earned a random £10 yesterday on a small job in the office so that went in my tin last night - the tin gets the contents saved against airshow fun and games in the summer - so a good incentive to put money in to it!

Flylady stuff is also still ticking along...I'm working on a programme of gentle training with MrEH - not though he realises it. :D Little phrases like "it's so much easier keeping the bathroom sink clean now we're in the habit of wiping the water drips off it before we leave in the morning" are definitely having the desired effect though...it was shiny as you like when I went in there this morning! :rotfl:

I seem to have a lot to get done this week! Hoping to be nearly there with Christmas shopping - just got a couple of last bits to get for my parents but I'm hoping to get those sorted with no problems tomorrow evening.

Need to establish when MrEH's lot are planning to pay. Mine's not a problem as I'll just hand my invoice over as normal when we're back in January.

Rough plan for the week so far:
Monday: Working all day, pub after work but probably not for long.
    Moroccan lamb couscous for tea
    Need to do:
    - [STRIKE]Parcels to Post Office at lunchtime[/STRIKE]
    - Pay in cheque on way home
    - Some more wrapping
    - 15 minute tidy-up (front room tonight I think, one more hotspot area to tackle)
    - Sort Credit Card money & transfer.
    - Get sausages from freezer for tomorrow night's tea
    - [STRIKE]email pal to let her know her parcel arrived with us! [/STRIKE]

Tuesday: Working all day - MrEH out after work so I'll pick him up from the tube when he's done.
    Sausage pasta for tea
    Need to do:
    - Get Mum & Dad's last odds and ends
    - Wrap MrEH's presents
    - Friend from upstairs popping down [STRIKE](Hopefully her present will have arrived by then!)[/STRIKE] Arrived today!

Wednesday: Working but not certain until what sort of time - best assume 5pm though.
    Fry up for tea.
    Need to do:
    - Any remaining wrapping
    - 15 minute tidy-up *somewhere* - bedroom maybe?
    - Make sweet pastry for mince pies
    - make savoury pastry for sausage rolls
    - load presents into bag/crate to take to Mum's
    - get MrEH take some bits round to Mum's to lessen stuff to go tomorrow
    - list all stuff to go to Mum's tomorrow

Thursday: Mr EH working, probably until lunchtime.
    - Any remaining wrapping that didn't get finished last night
    - Make mince pies
    - Make sausage rolls
    - remaining items to Mum's (Or leave in one place for MrEH to put in car to take later if I'm short of time)
    - Rubbish out throughout flat
    - quick S&S of kitchen & bathroom to leave them sparkly
    - Pub with Dad PM?
    - Once I can be sure MrEH is away from his emails - order his last present.

Oh my lord that looks like one HELL of a list! Aaargh!!

Yep - we'll be with them and the small furry person for Christmas day and boxing day. Then down in Devon for New Year. Actually planning a bit of time to ourselves between the two though which will be ace - I learned my lesson a few years back about spending the entire break whizzing round the country, I refuse to do it now! :p

Sounds nice. Do you have anything planned for the inbetween bits or just chill?

Hideous list update. Last night went a bit off track as I was slightly later getting home than I expected, and then MrEH announced that he had got rugby training after all so he dashed back out again.

Monday: [STRIKE]Working all day, pub after work but probably not for long.
    Moroccan lamb couscous for tea[/STRIKE]
    Need to do:
    - [STRIKE]Parcels to Post Office at lunchtime[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]Pay in cheque on way home[/STRIKE] Did that this morning
    - Some more wrapping :o
    - 15 minute tidy-up (front room tonight I think, one more hotspot area to tackle)
    - Sort Credit Card money & transfer. Got the paperwork with me and did a first run through this morning - transfers will have to wait until I've checked through receipts, though
    - [STRIKE]Get sausages from freezer for tomorrow night's tea[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]email pal to let her know her parcel arrived with us! [/STRIKE]

Tuesday: Working all day - MrEH out after work so I'll pick him up from the tube when he's done.

I started work a bit earlier this morning as there was NO traffic so we just sailed through. 45 minutes and that included the time it took to pop into town a pay the cheque in first! :D So came in for 8.30 and will leave at 4.30 tonight as a result. A definite win as that gains me some extra time this evening - fingers crossed for a similar lack of traffic on the way home. As MrEH is out I'll structure my time doing 15 minutes bursts on the timer I think - that works well for me.

That's quite a list but hopefully manageable now you've broken it down into days (hopefully!!) What doesn't get done, well, it just doesn't get done, that's my motto :D Good plan to not be dashing around the country between Christmas and new year :D
