When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.:money:
Morning happy weekend DFW-ers!
Been a VERY long time since I started the thread but I'm up and raring to go (almost...) so thought I might as well get organised. Could very well get used to working two days a week but it certainly wouldn't pay the bills
This is me today:-
- [STRIKE]Checked banking[/STRIKE] (no change)
- [STRIKE]B/L/[/STRIKE]D from stores
- Stick to diet, I have lost 5lb of the 11lb I put on over Christmas purely by eating sensibly! :rotfl:
- [STRIKE]Need to buy 1x thing today which is Oatbran, only available from Mr W but will come from joint groceries budget so NSD for me. Think I'll text OH to get this later save me going out at all! [/STRIKE] OH got this for me
- [STRIKE]OH has taken car into work to investigate problem[/STRIKE] No problem immediately visible, need to wait for noise to get worse
- Text friends to remind them I have some stuff of theirs from our NYE party, would like these out of my kitchen
- [STRIKE]Friend visiting at 3pm for a cuppa and catch up, to avoid C0sta![/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Register C0sta loyalty cards online for those days I just can't avoid...[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Shopping being delivered 5-6pm, happy with £64 for the week for two adults with expensive diets, one teenage DSister and one 6 yr old DD with a milk allergy.[/STRIKE] Did well from our substitutions too, 400ml extra shampoo and 100g extra salad cream for the same price, ahh the little things that make us happy...
- [STRIKE]Take chicken out of freezer for curry tomorrow night[/STRIKE]- Do freezer inventory as I'm losing track
- [STRIKE]Declutter kitchen!!!! It's becoming a dumping ground
[/STRIKE]- Read a bit more of NSK's challenge. I did it Nov 2012 the first month and it was great, but it went a bit extreme for a while.
- Help DSister with her finances and to get in control of where she is. She's gone out to meet her boyf and won't be back today...
All of this stuff is designed to keep me from walking into town today, it's miserable out there anyway!
Jx
Doing very well with my list!
Just to add some:
- Had a shower instead of a bath
- Allowed hair to dry naturally instead of hairdryer and straighteners (as I didn't go out anywhere!)
- Started looking at cheap all inclusive deals for somewhere hot and sunny, realised I was looking at summer holidays and we're only going to Italy in mid June so that's a bit greedy. So closed window immediately!!!

Good morning all!
It's pretty wet and miserable here today but that isn't going to stop me taking my 4 dogs out...love having time to spend a good few hours out with them. Other than that, I have/will:
- check online banking
- transfer £7.63 to VSP
- checked ebay- item has a bid!
- Check freepostcodelottery
- Bake a cake for a friend's birthday present
- Get OH to have a look at all his account balances etc so we both have an idea how we are starting the year in terms of our finances.
- Have a loft sort out and see if there is anything we don't want that can be sold.
- All meals from stores today and tomorrow
- Going out for a drink for friend's birthday but as I am not drinking that should be fairly cheap.
Have a great weekend all. Stay warm and dry if you can!Clearing debt to save for a simple wedding.Starting 2016 With debt of £77000 -
Morning :wave: awwwwww the weekend :j Thanks for starting us of Josie! I know what you mean about NSK's thread being very extreme! But also very inspiring. I did it one month, didn't manage to stick to it entirely but I did pay off an additional £200 off of our debt that month :T
Things for this weekend - have dgd so need to think of some things to do with dgd when the weather is so shocking :eek: And she is also a grumpy wotsit today, hasn't been very well for the past week so is just generally growly!
* check banking
* pay friend £60 who did the lights
* need to do a couple of things for work & submit expenses claim
* paint radiator
* call friend about going to her for a coffee & then go for a walk
* do some sewing if dgd has a nap
* iron ebay bundles and list
* stick to diet - managed to yesterday :j
* all meals from stores
* bake cake while baking sweet potato for dgd
* a couple of loads of washing
* do 20 minute shred
* thread eyebrows myself & give myself a manicure
* freeze portion sizes of ys cooked chicken pieces I got yesterday
* cook, mash & freeze reduced carrot and swede mash purchased yesterday
* re-do meal plan as I went shopping yesterday
Think that's it for today. Hope you all have a lovely day xDF as at 30/12/16

I'm happy I've got all food from stores this weekend (thanks to NOT getting domino's last night
)
Going to do a bit of yoga at home now. :A
Bought fuel for the fire (local supplier) and turning the heating off - bit of saving and cosy :cool:
Going to bake a cheapo weetabix cake
Night in tonight with movie
Checked banking
Did my sums and a bit of planning
Clearing out and a few trips to the skip - feels good!
Taking the dog for a good walk - free exercise
Watched Martin's money show from last night - defo need to start piggybanking and having a separate bills account - we use the same one for bills and groceries/household spends - it would be so much easier just to have 2...
