Where should I buy my device?

I am looking to buy a new smartphone.
I can get it online with 24 hours despatch. Their own store is about an hour from me, so online is easier.

Or, I can get it from a mobile phone store that sells all sorts. They will despatch to me or their store, and are in town.

I don't know what their own after sales service is like, but they are local.
The after sales of the "manufacturer" store is meant to be amazing, but if I had an issue with the device, I'd have to post it to them.

So should I get it from the online store, or go to the 'town' shop that sells all sorts?

The town shop is a reputable well known company. Not "Bobs phones".

Prices are all the same.

The 'device' - is is a top secret?
Is the "reputable well known company" a secret too?

I didn't think I was allowed to post brands on here?!
As I said, it's a smartphone. Happy to say precisely what it is if permitted.

You are allowed and this does make a difference.

E.g. for an iPhone everyone would advise you to buy directly from Apple.
The "reputable well known company" can sell online as well with extra DSR protection and, possibly, some cashback available.

Ok well if I am wrong to state, then so be it. But I have a thread here about beds, and the person who insisted the company was crap, and the company they use is the best, refused out right to name who the better firm was for reasons of these rules.

    So:
    The device: iPhone 5S.
Online store is Apple, in store is Apple, Cambridge.

    Local store is Carphone Warehouse.

iPhone from CPW will lock the the first network it connects to. Only Apple sell truly sim-free iPhones that remain not locked.

Quidco pay 1% on 5s from Apple. Check Topcashback as well.
