Over budget now. Rubbish. Will still have to top up on milk and fruit next week too. Oh well, I was down frpm 275 so just way it is. Loads in freezer for next month so am feelinv ok about it all.

Question. If you make a quiche and then freeze it do you use disposable trays or just wrap in tin foil?

Sorry! My silly American upbringing is coming through. Baking soda = bicarbonate of soda. Exact same thing, just the British use the chemical name for it and Americans use the common name for it. :o

The apple sauce should work no problem. I've used all kinds of applesauce in it from all sorts of apples. :)

Ah I see! Thank you :)

Declaring £16.12 over budget for the month but happy with that as I have actually done most of my monthly shop for April including meat and bread!

£10 spend in Sains today since we were in town for Doctors appointment...can either pay £2 for parking or spend £10 and get "free" parking.
Will still need to buy bread tomorrow and the eggs which I forgot today, so again over budget for this week!
GC: £40 a week. Sticking to my budget, but never remembering to post in the relevant thread.
Probably buying toiletries that I don't need, as I can't resist a "bargain."

Crowdpleaser look at it this way. If you hadn't tried the challenge you'd probably have spent even more so look on it as a little victory :)
I've gone over as well but not as much as I would if I hadn't done the challenge this month.

Having a total chillout this evening. Hubbie in the kitchen making his special veggie casserole as I've been to the hospital today.
All well, thank God literally, but feeling a bit sore so hubby making tea. Bless him. I've also got a naughty glass of wine to hand...but I deserve it today!
My grocery month challenge will start again on the 22nd and I might just up it a little as it's our youngest DS birthday, he'll be 20 and I'm also going here in April and I'll definitely be spending some pennies.
    Hope everyone is well.

Florenceem, how do you make apple inside out pudding, it looks yummy and I have loads of apples in the freezer from autumn so use up soon so I can defrost it.

    Hi all,

Just on to update sig. It's going to be very tight this month although I did buy chicken breasts and beef mince from Costco and haven't used any yet so this will go over to next month and possibly May too.

NSD today and £1.49 yesterday in M&S petrol station on 4 pints of milk (I know I know) but it was on the way home from school and I needed cash too and their cashpoint is free.

Dinner tonight is sausages, mash and broccoli. Tomorrow we will have haddock, hm wedges, peas and sweetcorn.

    Have a good evening all.
