Still, will be moving at the end of Feb to a Sainsbug's area and they do have
grocery gift cards, so might try it out then. Anyone know if I'd still get
Nectar points if I paid with a gift card?

Yep, you can definitely get points as well.
Not sure if you can use online though.

Got my hair and make up trial tomorrow so very excited - going to spend tonight in facemask and general home spa'ing.
Not sure whether to wash my hair or whether she will do it when I get there.....

On freezing questions- pastry is absolutely fine to freeze.
I also keep things in the freezer for more than a month. Use nose first, use eyes next, use touch next, and then use taste.

You'll know if it's not good.

tuesday: rest of stew into a pie, freezing leftovers (is it safe to do this, if so shall i cook then freeze or freeze then defrost/cook? its puff pastry ADVICE PLEASE)

I would make up the pie and cook it so the pastry is only just browned. Cool quickly then freeze.

You can reheat from frozen if you want to but I would defrost first (save electricity/gas!).

Budget this year is based on
    Annual for me : 365 days @ £5/day = £1825
    Annual for DS1 : 7 meals a fortnight @ £3/meal = £546 / year
Annual milk for DS1 : 2 x 4pt/week @ £1.50 for 4 pints (I can get cheaper, but this way I'm not out of pocket in an emergency) = £156
    Annual for OH : 52 Saturdays and 2 out of 3 Sundays @ £4/day = 87 x £4 = £348 year
    Total = £2875

    For a 28 day month this makes my official budget £220.55 (£2875 / 365 * 28)
But I'm hoping to continue using up stuff in the house, which I hope means I can stick to no more than two-thirds of this (unofficially aiming for £147).

OK, so this is my first time on the Grocery Challenge, so here we go. My spend is for all food, toiletries and household cleaning items. On Friday we will have a takeaway as we are celebrating Mr Dogmom's transition to semi retirement (hence the need for OS habits).

    Meal Plan:
Thurs: Home made onion bhajis, salad, YS duck, potatoes
Fri: Fish & Chips takeaway - 1 large portion shared between two
    Sat: Duck salad,
Sun: Roast chicken, roasties and 2 veg
Mon: Sausage and apple casserole, mash, 2 veg
Tues: Cod in lemon sauce, potatoes, 2 veg
    Wed:Cottage pie, 2 veg

I have spent £27.14 out of £200 though I will need a few more bits later in the week. So far so good.

I don't know how to change my signature at the bottom - can anyone give me some tips please? I tried going into my info and clicked Edit About dogmom but I couldn't get it to work.

Promise not to post three times day everyday but do want to post when I spend to make sure all my little spends sink in and don't carry on going unnoticed until money is all gone and I can't understand how.

So went to the shops with my list and spent £74.24. I am hoping I only need fresh fruit veg milk and the likes now as have the meat/fish and store cupboard bits for all the evening meals for the coming month (I hope - how long before I start remembering all the things I have forgotten?).

Hi dogmom, click on the userCP tab at the top and then down the left hand side you'll get a list of options one of them is edit sig, click on that and then your sig will come up. you edit it in the bottom box and when you click update your new sig should appear in the top box and from then on under your posts till you change it again. thats if ive explained it correctly.
