Anybody else waiting in anticipation for NEXT delivery??

Hi
Just wondering who else is in the unenviable position of waiting endlessly for Next delayed deliveries?
Ordered in the online VIP sale, the in stock items were arranged - by Next - to be delivered on 30th December and 31st December. (There were 2 separate orders)
Then an email arrives saying Next were 'really sorry' but the items due on 31st were not going to arrive until today, 3rd January. I was disappointed but wanted to know about the items due the day before, on the 30th December, surely they would still arrive then?
No idea - no update. Eventually told the 'whole' of my two orders was delayed - until 3rd January.
No prizes for guessing I don't have my items OR an email updating me as to when I could expect my items.
I PM'd Next on their facebook page - apparently now my items are 'in process'. Their page is inundated with complaints!!
It's also impossible to cancel this order - only reserved items, those not available until later in January (those not in stock at time of order) can be cancelled.
Is it really a case of just waiting to see when things turn up? It doesn't seem right when other online companies manage to fulfil their agreements - even during sales!

only two experiences of ordering from next online and both have been trouble free and pretty fast delivery, sorry to hear about your experiences0

Same position as you.
Last week four parcels were meant to be delivered on Saturday but didn't arrive and as such I had to arrange for someone to sit in on Monday as I wasn't in. Although I think that was more due to Hermes incompetence.
Two parcels were meant to be delivered today but they are still shown as reserved items on Next (although one batch has items that can't be cancelled but the other batch can...) so they haven't even been packed yet.
I called Next today as I am getting pretty peed off and was told that their warehouse is really behind and they couldn't even give me an estimate of when I can expect the parcels!
Never had this problem with ordering in the Next VIP sale but they have really cocked this one up!0 -
I had the same problem, although mine were for collection. due to be delivered to store on the 30th, then it changed to 3rd January, only to get a text saying they were sorry but it's not arrived in store.
Suppose it's just a case of wait until it turns upFeb 2024:

CC3 4221.17

Loan 2 5275.22
Total £30,567.920 -
It's not realistic to expect people to stay in - just in case their items turn up. The 'email to keep you updated' system is down, in my case anyway, as on my online account about twenty items are still listed as planned for delivery on 30th December!
I have since been informed that Next are struggling with the demand for the sale -
quelle surprise - fancy them not expecting that!
- and as such deliveries are to begin again w/c 6th January.
I can't be bothered to ask why tell me today then. Continually fobbed off.
Others can do better and Next should remember this! I wont be loyal in the future
ETA I refuse to telephone at 5p per minute so I've PM'd thru FB instead. They answer politely and quickly but obviously have no real solution to offer0 -

This is what is annoying me, the inability of Next to actually provide a delivery date! All well and good if you are home all day to wait in but for people who have work, etc it's really frustrating. I have no safe place nor any neighbours to take parcels in so my options are wait for Hermes to try and delivery and arrange re-delivery (which is a huge hassle as they are the worst company to deal with) or get someone to sit in all day (which can only be done if I actually know what day it's coming!)0 -
No but im waiting for a new look one!!
Just sent me an email sayin theyre backlogged!!
Wish i bloody paid for express now!0 -

Well I've now had two dates - and waited in for both!
Fully expected the 30th Dec order to show up as Customer Services weren't sure what was happening with that one. No show.
Then today - expected both orders. No show.
Now they've said from 6th onwards. Well just like you say, I'm back at work then so then what?!
I also queried whether the goods were actually allocated to customers yet or whether we were to be told things were now unavailable. They didn't answer that.0 -
That's online shopping for you. Not worth bothering with it.0

Next are usually brilliant with deliveries, and good if there is any sort of problem.
It's usually next day, if in stock, but I think things have been delayed, over Xmas, due to heavy demand.
I'm currently waiting in for their courier, to return some items I've changed my mind with, and as I've never returned anything this way before, not sure how well it will work.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -
I know Next have a good reputation; I've been a customer for many, many years.
However, they seem to be really struggling to keep their customers happy during their sales lately - something is wrong somewhere, whether it be their choice of delivery agent or warehouse processing I don't know.
The thing is, this heavy demand argument is nonsense. That's the ideal scenario for a company trying to flog all their past season clobber over Xmas - they should forsee the demand and have the facilities in place to cope with it. If they can't and I do appreciate that things go wrong, I do live in the real world, then don't give unrealistic delivery dates out!! That's what is annoying me.
Sooler - I chose to order online as I received a vip slot, where the sale is available before the shop opens on Boxing Day. Don't think I'll bother in future - would much rather not spend my precious time off work waiting for a knock at the door.
Well you live and learn
