Your friend probably can't believe you're such a pushover.

I'd email saying: 'What are we going to do about the washing machine now you've got your other one working? If you don't need mine now I'd like to sell it as I need the money for baby stuff, (do you mind if I get the buyer to collect from yours though as I don't think I can call in another favour to get it brought back here again?) or did you still want to buy mine?'
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

    December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.10

Why leave it a few days? That's not going to make any difference.

Just ring her up and say that you've got to sort out the washing machine. Ask her if she's using it or if she's back using her old one.
"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."

    Seriously?

She only needs to ask for the £70.00 she's owed, not make it into a Coronation Street storyline.

So after a month and a half and several conversations you still want to wait a few more days. This person is not a friend. Just ask for the money or the machine back.

It's occasions like these when you know who your friends really are.

  • iv texted her today.

the comments like 'who your friends really are' don't apply really, I know she is a good friend just notoriously forgetful. when I see her in person this week though I'll tell her how it made me feel awkward having to ask, because we're friends and I can :)

So, can I ask what the problem was in the first place if you're so open and honest with each other?

How can you 'forget' about a whopping great big washing machine.

    Whatever.......

My thoughts exactly. If they're such great friends what was the whole thread about? Surely OP wouldn't have felt awkward at all if they're as close as the last post suggests.
