Only if they lazy and dont mind throwing money away. They rang me the other day and have sent me some forms to fill in. They take 33% of a successful claim.
Why not fill the forms in and send them direct to the lender/seller and avoid 33% (plus VAT).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). No Rob, use the guides on here and do it yourself. Seriously; you'll be glad you did. Say you successfully claim back £1000. Will you be happy paying them £330 for basically putting the forms you complete and return to them in the post to the PPI provider?
I did it myself successfully, as have so many others, using the guide and letter templates on this website. Cost only the price of a stamp.
Plus, "only 33%" doesn't look quite so "only" at the other end of a successful claim process.
Good luck!0 -
No wise owl would use them!0

Just used Owl to reclaim PPI, was successful but did not read the small print. I have an outstanding balance with Capital One and they used the PPI awarded to me to reduce the balance of my outstanding debt and left me to pay Owl £500+ for their services, real stinger.0

If Owl knew that when the put your complaint in, then they should have told you that would be the outcome. This gives you grounds for complaint against Owl if so.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. That's exactly what I told them but they said all the information about the matter was included in the info pack that they sent me, but upon reading the small print it does not tell you exactly what will happen. I did phone Owl before the claim went through and asked about the specific problem, the lady told me she would have to ring Capital One to find out, consequently she phoned back and said that the person she talked to was not sure if the PPI would be used to reduce my outstanding balance, she then said she would ring Capital One again and let me know the outcome, but she never phoned back...0

Are you in arrears with cap one (I.e over your limit or behind on payments?)
If not then they should allow you the money if you require it.
If you are then Owl Claimd should have checked this with you and drawn to your attention the fact that you would still owe them money, not buried it in the small print!!!0 -
I used them, yes your right it's money I'd giving away. But I'm not good with paper work. I had at look at the info on here and I didn't under stand it so I used owl, on one claim I got back just over £2500 , I've still got two more claims in, so I need to pay them a lot of money, but how I see it is it's money I never had, so I have still won, but not as much as I would of done. I don't have anyone to help me with paper work so that's why I used them, yes they do rip people off in my situation, I have a mental health issues and I'm dyslexic, so it's not as easy for me. But I still got some money that I can put in the bank , just not as much. :T :rotfl: :money: :money: they going to ring me next week when cheque has cleared.0
