How much LPG does a static caravan boiler use?

Hi,
I use the 47kg bottles on a caravan we are living in atm while we do up a property. Obviously being in it in winter is not ideal but I'm thinking of how to make the gas go further. It has an old combi boiler in it.
How much LPG does the boiler 'flame' use when idle?
i.e would a see a difference if I only turn on the boiler in the morning to shower and in the evening for incidental hot water?
Thanks,
Rick

Do you have central heating? That is what burns LPG. We had a static for ten years, and always found LPG to be economical. Turning it on and off is a pain. Especially when you want instant hot water. Always make sure you have a spare bottle though, especially in Winter.0

This depends on a lot of things, firstly how much insulation it has (if a holiday style one then none! double or single glazing?
If its got a pilot light, than they cost about £30 per month to run on their own!
unfortunatly theres no getting round it, you will just have to put up with it :-(
I used to live in a park home, and used to get through £200 per month in the winter.0 -
Thanks to you both.
Sk240 - it is a single glazing, no insulation one. Bought cheap while doing up a house, obviously not ideal for winter.
It doesnt have CH. It has a gas fire used only when very cold, gas cooker, and the boiler which does have a pilot light.
Its that which I'm wondering about, could I turn it off at the boiler overnight or does it need to be lit all the time?
Thanks

I'm no expert but I would have though that the pilot light use was insignificant.0

My natural gas hot water pilot light uses 3 kWh per day. 10p a day, £36.50 per year.
My heating one uses 5kWh per day, 16p per day.
So at the moment I am spending 26p per day on pilot lights.
How much per kWh does LPG cost?0
