Vodafone Sure Signal Alternatives
Hi
I have recently moved to an area that doesn't get a Vodafone signal, I have confirmed with the local shop that there isn't a mast in the area and I'm getting a signal from all other providers. Though I am switching to a Three sim at night, this isn't a long term fix as just upgraded my contract and got over 2 years left with my friends at Vodafone
Whilst in the shop they suggested buying a Sure Signal box which almost guarantees a signal but £100 it seems extortionate, considering I am already paying a contract.
Does anyone know of a similar item but cheaper? Do Signal boosters work?
Thanks in Advance

Signal boosters will only work if there's a signal to be boosted - so if you've not got a signal then no they won't.
The sure signal device use your broadband connection to provide a Vodafone connection - my mate has got one and it worksNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Yeah been told they work, by someone in the same area I have moved to but at £100, I think very overpriced0

Sure Signal is the only option. All other 'boosters' are simply illegal.
>> Home Signal Boosters?
Taking new 2-year contracts just before moving was a crazy idea.0 -
Moving was unavoidable0

I didn't say that moving was a crazy idea. A new long mobile contract was unless moving was absolutely sudden and unpredictable.0

It was, unfortunately and I know people in the area who get a signal, up the hill though, so didn't see it as an issue. Yes, its easy in hindsight to say it was wrong but I can't turn clock back and this is where I am not where I should be
Crazy isn't a phrase I'd use either, unfortunate is more accurate0 -
Negotiate with Vodafone.
The people in the shop have no power over the proces but the telephone sales / help people do. We moved two years ago and were quoted a similar price to you for a Sure Signal box, OH bartered them down to £35 or £40 over the phone0 -
Thanks Cazza
That is definitely a more suitable price0
