Best Bank Account?

I am looking for a new bank provider and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good one?

I am currently with Halifax.

- Must have online banking
- Able to open various online savings accounts
- Able to transfer money online to other bank accounts
- New customer sign up offers?

I am currently unemployed, so I have no wages coming in at the moment.

Have a look at the main MSE 'compare bank accounts' feature for recommendations, you might also get more responses if you post on the bank accounts board rather than the credit card one!

All banks have online banking.

Those that offer the best current accounts dont necessarily offer the best savings accounts. You dont need all with one provider and with Fast Payments moving money between most providers almost instantly then there is little point in limiting yourself to one company.

Current accounts have next to no startup offers, excluding cashback via Quidco etc.

The term "best" is very subjective depending on how you rate benefits -v- service -v- interest etc
